Prayers.
Parliaments Guards.
COLONEL Copley reports Amendments to the Ordinance for Payment of the Horse Guards that attend the Parliament: The which were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.
A Proviso was offered, That this Ordinance should not extend to the Estate, real or personal, of any Delinquent, being within the County of Essex: The which was twice read; and, upon the Question, rejected.
And then the Ordinance, upon the Question, passed; and is ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.
Colonel Copley is appointed to carry it to the Lords.
Settling Ministers.
Ordered, That, on Wednesday and Friday Mornings in every Week, constantly, till Ten of Clock, Ordinances for settling Ministers in particular Churches be read: And that Mr. Speaker do, from time to time; put the House in mind of this Order: And that the first, on Friday Morning next, the Ordinance touching the Maintenance of Ministers in the Town of Northampton be read.
Wilson's Petition.
Ordered, That, on Saturday Morning next, Mr. Wilson's Petition be read.
Sir H: Holcroft.
Ordered That, on Monday Morning next, the Report concerning Sir Henry Holcroft be made.
Clement Danes Rectory.
Ordered, That the Petition of the Inhabitants of Clement Danes, desiring the Vacating of the Rectory of Dr. Dukeson, be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of plundered Ministers; to do therein as to them shall appear just and fitting.
Army, &c.
Resolved, &c. That the whole Business concerning the Army be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next, at Ten of Clock, peremptorily: And that Mr. Speaker do put the House in Mind hereof: And that Mr. Doddridge do then make his Report touching the Equality of Rates.
Forces disbanded.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee at Derby House, to give Order, and take care, for the Dispersing of those Forces of the County of Kent, that are disbanded by that Committee.
Leave of Absence
Ordered, That Sir William Brereton, a Member of this House, shall have . . . . to go into the Country.
Message to Lords.
Colonel Copley carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, Ordinance for Five thousand Pounds, &c. for the Guards of Horse attending the Houses of Parliament: Order for Payment of Fees to Officers and Under Clerks, for Commissions and Dedimus Potestatem's to Justices of Peace: Order for Two hundred Pounds to Sir Henry Cholmley, to buy him Horses: Order for One hundred Pounds to Mr. Allen, Servant to Lieutenant General Cromwell.
Army.
Ordered, That, on Saturday Morning next, the Committee at Derby House do make report of the Business concerning the Supernumeraries, referred to the Consideration of that Committee.
Message to Lords.
Colonel Copley is ordered, at this Message, to put the Lords in mind of the Order, formerly sent to their Lordships, for Five hundred Pounds for Usbands the Printer; and of the Order for settling the Militia of the whole Kingdom.
Treaty with the King.
A Letter from the Committee employed upon the Treaty, from Newport in the Isle of Wight, of 9 Octobris 1648, with Ten Papers inclosed, touching the King's and the Committee's Proceedings in the Treaty, upon the Propositions concerning the Church and the Militia; and the King's Answer unto them: The which were all read.
The Question was propounded, That this Answer of the King's to the Proposition presented by the Commissioners, concerning the Church, is not satisfactory:
And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be now put;
It passed with the Affirmative.
Resolved, &c. That this Answer of the King's to the Proposition presented by the Commissioners to the King, concerning the Church, is not satisfactory.
Resolved, &c. That, after the Commissioners shall have concluded upon the Proposition that this shall find them in, that then they do press the King to a full Answer to the Proposition presented by them to him concerning the Church: And that they do proceed in the Treaty, upon the rest of the Propositions, according to the former Instructions.
Resolved, &c. That a Letter be prepared, and sent to the Commissioners, to inclose and communicate these Votes unto them; with Directions to them to acquaint the King with them: And that in this Letter, Notice be taken of the Committee's very good and faithful Service; and the Thanks of this House returned unto them for the same.
Mr. Swynfen is appointed to prepare and bring in this Letter To-morrow Morning.
Resolved, &c. That the Lords Concurrence be desired in these Votes, and in this Letter to the Commissioners in the Isle of Wight.
Blundell's Discoveries.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall, to proceed upon the Discoveries made, and to be made, unto that Committee, by Sir Arthur Blundell: And that they do take Order, that the Monies arising upon such Discoveries, from time to time, be paid unto the said Sir Arthur Blundell, or his Assignee, until the principal Sum of Nine hundred Forty Pounds Three Shillings, together with the Interest due for the same, from the First of June 1643, be paid unto the said Sir Arthur Blundell, or his Assignee, according to an Ordinance of the Lords and Commons, of the Two-and-twentieth of August 1648.
Navy.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to these Ships following, to be fitted to Sea, as the next Winter's Guard; videlicct, The St. George, Unicorn, Leopard, Bonaventure, Nonsuch, Assurance, Adventure, Elizabeth, Dragon, Tiger, Phenix, Providence, Expedition, Mary Rose, John, Fellowship, Greyhound, Warwick, Tenth Whelp, Star, Cygnet, Hart, Weymouth.
Navy Supply.
An Ordinance for charging the Sum of Fifty thousand Pounds, upon the Receipts at Goldsmiths Hall, in Course, for carrying on the Affairs of the Navy, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.
A Paper, intituled, The humble Answer and Petition of the Governor, Deputy, Assistants, and Fellowship of Merchants Adventurers to the Proposition for the Loan of Twenty thousand Pounds, for carrying . . the Affairs of the Navy, was read; And
It is Resolved, &c. That this House doth declare, That this Answer of the Merchant Adventurers is no way satisfactory.
Ordered, That the Governor, Deputy, Assistants, and Fellowship of Merchants do call a Court: And that the Committee of the Navy do appoint some of their Number to go to that Court, and acquaint them with the Necessities of the Navy, and with the Consequences those Necessities will draw upon Trade, if not timely supplied; and to press them to a further and full Answer to that Proposition for the Loan of Twenty thousand Pounds.
Fleet at Goree.
Ordered, That the Committee of the Navy do take care, and give Order, for the sending of a Month's Victual to the Ships at the Goree, by the next Conveniency of Shipping.
Earl of Arundell's Composition.
Ordered, That the Earl of Arundell's Fine, upon his Composition, be allowed to the carrying on the Affairs of the Navy: And that it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to treat and confer with the Earl, upon his Composition; and report it to the House.
Navy.
Ordered, That Mr. Green do, To-morrow Morning at Ten of Clock, proceed in his Reports concerning the Navy: And that Mr. Speaker do then take the Chair, and put the House in mind hereof.
Draper's Petition.
Ordered, That Captain Matthew Draper's Petition be read on Thursday Morning next.

Sir Henry Anderson's Petition was read.
