Be it Enacted by this present Parliament, and it is hereby Enacted by the Authority thereof, That for the more orderly receiving, disposing and issuing forth of the Moneys payable upon the Six moneths Assessment appointed by an Act, Entituled, An Act for raising of Ninety thousand pounds a Moneth for Six Moneths, to commence the Five and Twentieth day of December, One thousand six hundred fifty one, for maintenance of the Forces in England, Ireland, and Scotland, raised by the Authority of Parliament, for the Service of this Commonwealth; And of the One hundred thousand pounds by Order of Parliament, of the Seventeenth of December, One thousand six hundred fifty one, charged upon the Receipts of Goldsmiths-hall; And of all other moneys, either by vertue of the before recited Act; or of any other Act or Order of Parliament, appointed for the maintenance of the Armies in England, Ireland and Scotland; and for putting in Execution the several Powers for prevention of Free-quarter, and quartering in private Houses, given by the Act before recited to the Committee for the Army, Sir Henry Vane junior, Thomas Pury, Edmund Prideaux, Dennis Bond, Esqs; Sir Arthur Hesilrige Barnet, Sir Thomas Widdringon, William Leman, Luke Hodges, Esqs; The Lord Grey, Sir Henry Mildmay, John Lisle one of the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal of England, Colonel Bosevile, Augustine Garland, Humphry Edwards, John Trenchard, Sir Gregory Norton, the Lord Monson, Gregory Clement, Colonel Stapley, Henry Smith, William Cawley, John Carew, Mr. Love, Colonel Downs, Col. Purefoy, Esqs; Sir William Masham, Lieutenant General Ludlow, Thomas Scot, Alderman Allen, John Brown, Nicholas Lechmere, Thomas Challoner, Henry Nevil, Esqs; Sir John Bourchier, Mr. Lister, Mr. Dove, Mr. Hollows, Sir William Allanson, Mr. Renolds, Captain Skinner, Mr. Anlaby, Major Salwey, Major General Harrison, Mr. Strickland, Mr. Henry Herbert, Sir Michael Livesey, Colonel Walton, Mr. Weaver, Colonel Morley, Sir John Trevor, Sir Henry Heyman, Sir Henry Vane senior, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Peter Temple, Sir William Constable, Mr. Sey and Mr. Blagrave, shall be, and are hereby appointed a Committee for the Army and Forces aforesaid; And that William Leman Esq; and John Blackwel the yonger Esq; shall be, and are hereby appointed Treasurers at War: And the said Committee for the Army, or any five of them, are hereby appointed and authorized to have the care and managing the whole business of bringing in the monies assessed by vertue of the Act herein before recited; and of all other monies for the use and payment of the said Forces, and of the ordering and disposing of the said moneys for the use and payment of the said Forces already Established, or that by order of Parliament or Authority thereof shall be from time to time raised and established for the Service of this Commonwealth, and of all charges incident to the said Forces; And shall have and are hereby authorized to use, exercize and put in execution, All and every the Powers and Authorities, in as full and amplemaner, to all intents and purposes, as the Committee for the Army appointed by an Act of Parliament, Entituled, An Act appointing Treasurers at wars for receiving and issuing forth of the Moneys to be Assessed, Levied and paid by vertue of an Act of the Seventh of April instant, for Ninety thousand pounds per Men sem, had or were mentioned to have by vertue of that Act; or of an Act of the third of September, One thousand six hundred fifty one, Entituled, An Act for the continuance of the Committee for the Army and Treasurers at Wars; or of any other Act, or Order or Ordinance of Parliament, mentioned, included or recited in the said Acts or either of them, or whereunto the said Acts or either of them have reference. And it is further Enacted, That the said Treasurers at War for the receiving, paying and issuing forth of the said six moneths Assessments of Ninety thousand pounds a Moneth and of all other monies appointed or to be appointed for the use and payment of the Forces aforesaid, and charges incident thereunto, shall have, and are hereby appointed to have and use the same Powers and Authorities, and observe the same Rules and Directions that the Treasurers at Wars named in the Act appointing Treasurers at Wars, for receiving and issuing forth of the moneys to be assessed and paid by vertue of an Act of the seventh of April, One thousand six hundred forty nine, for the Assessment of ninety thousand pounds per Mensem, herein before recited, had, or were mentioned to have by vertue of that Act, or of the Act for the continuance of the Committee for the Army and Treasurers at Wars herein last recited, or either of them: And the Receipt of the said Treasurers at Wars for all such monies as by vertue of this Act shall be paid unto them for the purposes aforesaid, shall be a sufficient discharge to the persons paying the same. And it is further Enacted, That the said Treasurers at Wars, for their pains in receiving, paying and issuing forth of all such monies as shall be by vertue of this Act received by them, and defraying of the necessary Charges and Expences they shall be put unto in the doing thereof, and in consideration that they shall execute the Imployment of Treasurers at War, shall have and receive, for so long time as they shall be continued Treasurers at War, and execute that Imployment, after the Rate of the yearly alowance or salary of three thousand pounds, together with such extraordinary Charges as shall be occasioned by the Portage or Transporting of monies by land or sea; which the said Committee for the Army, or any five of them, are hereby Authorized and Appointed by their Order to allow unto them from time to time as they shall think fit.
