B. For the better Execution and Explanation of the Statute of Bankrupts, reported by Mr. Serjeant Shirley, with a new Title, and other Amendments; which were twice read; and the Bill, upon Question, ordered to be ingrossed.
Privilege- Objectionable Publication.
Sir Francis Bacon reporteth the Conference had, touching the Book published by the Bishop of Bristowe.
A Speech of a great Lord (E. S.) in three Parts:
1. Their good Correspondence with this House.
2. A Declaration of the Proceedings against the Bishop.
3. Reason why they went no further. That they were interested, as well as we: -
If not, yet the Union of the Two Houses gave them an Interest. -
A Rebuke to the Bishop. -
That which durst not shew his Head in Parliament, should go to the Press in mean Hands. -
That any Man should presume to let the King see more than a Parliament could. -
The King the Head, we the Body ; if any Man will swell above the Circumference, it must be a Wert, or a Wenn.
The Bishop made Submission with them: - Peccavi, poenitet, non putaram. - They remitted in respect of his Coat. - That he was a Member. - That he came under the Shadow of the Cypress tree, the Union.
Conclus. - Less severely reported, than performed.

Sir Rob. Wroth, upon Motion, hath Leave to absent himself for a Sennight, upon Occasion of the King's hunting in Waltham Forest, near his Dwelling; and is ordered to send a Buck to Mr. Speaker.

Simpson, the Prisoner, brought to the Bar, and demanded, what was the Cause why he desired to come hither.
Answ. Because he would be released.
He fell presently into a Fit of an Infirmity, whereunto he is continually subject, as was said; and thereupon Ordered, he shall be brought again Tomorrow Morning.

This Motion was made by Mr. Kyrton, Servant and Officer to the Earl of Hertford; and pursued with another, that all my Lord of Hartford's Officers might go forth also; but not urged, nor assented [a].
