PRAYERS.

Dunstable

ORDERED, That Mr. Tho. Rotherham, Mr. Glenden, and Mr. Jennat be added to the Order of the Second of September, to be Assistants to the Performance of a Lecture at Dunstable.

Mayor of Cheping Wicombe.

The humble Petition of the late and yet Mayor, and divers of the Aldermen and Burgesses, of the Borough of Cheping Wicombe in the County of Bucks, concerning some indirect Practices in the Election of a Mayor for that Town, was this Day read: And

It is thereupon Ordered, That the late and present Mayor shall still continue in his Mayoralty till the new Election be settled, upon the Hearing of the Cause: And that Mr. Jo. Gibbons, Mr. Tho. Bigg, and Michael Widmore, be forthwith summoned, to answer the Premises; and to such other Matters as upon Examination shall be objected or produced against them: And that the Examination of this Business be referred to the Committee for Informations.

Committee to Berkshire.

Sir F. Nollis, Mr. Hobby, are appointed to go down into Berks, to put the Propositions for Money in Execution.

King's Revenue.

Any Four of the Committee for the King's Revenue have Power upon all Occasions to sit.

Rowe's Petition.

The humble Petition of Tho. Rowe, a Servant to the Lord Cottington, who was apprehended by the Mayor of the Devizes, upon Jealousy of being an Intelligencer between the Lord Strange and the Lord Cottington, and before committed to Prison, was this Day read: and ordered to be referred to the Committee for Informations: Who are this Afternoon to sit, to examine the whole Business, and to report it to this House: And Mr. Rigby is added to this Committee.

Raising Dragooners.

Mr. Rigby brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Order of Publick Faith to the Undertakers for Setting forth of Dragooners.

Mayor of Maidstone.

The humble Petition of divers of the Jurats and Freemen of the Town of Maidston in the County of Kent, concerning the Election of their Mayor, was this Day read; and ordered to be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Clerkship of the Peace of that County: And are to sit upon it To-morrow, at Two, post meridiem: And Mr. Corbett is added to this Committee.

Persons to be summoned.

Ordered, That Rich. Delve and Gilbert Pridham of Sandford, who do not only refuse to appear at the Musters, but speak Words to dishearten others, be summoned to appear here: And Sir Jo. Northcott be desired to take Care, that this Order of Summons be served upon them.

Dangerous Expressions in Sermons.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Newman and Mr. Burdett, of Bury, shall be forthwith sent for as Delinquents, for dangerous Expressions uttered by them, in Sermons they preached at Bury: The which Notes were taken, and attested by Three several Witnesses, as appears by the Report from the Committee for Informations.

Army Appointment.

Resolved, That this House doth approve and allow of Captain Tho. Badinge, nominated thereunto by the Lord Kerry, to be a Captain unto the Lord Kerry, in the Place of Captain Paul Watts, who was formerly appointed a Captain of the said Regiment by the Lord Kerry, and approved of by both Houses, and is since employed in the Service of the Parliament, for Keeping and Preserving of the Town of Portesmouth; a Captain's Place, in that Town, being conferred upon him by the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom.

Bailing Lucas.

The Question being put, Whether the Question for Bailing of Sir Jo. Lucas, upon Conditions not to remove out of London, should be now put;

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Jo. Lucas shall be forthwith bailed; upon Condition that he remove not out of the City of London, and the Suburbs; the Principal in 10,000 l. the Securities in 5,000 l. apiece: The Bail to be approved of by the House.

King's Speech to the Army.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Riche and Mr. Page;

The Lords desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, presently in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning his Majesty's Speech and Protestation made in the Head of his Army between Stafford and Wellington; that some fitting Answer may be made thereunto, that may give Satisfaction.

Answer returned by the same Messengers: That this House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration: and will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Pym, Mr. Marten, Mr. Glyn, Sir H. Vane, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Message to Lords.

Sir Tho. Barrington is appointed to carry up to the Lords the Order for Preachers at Paule's Crosse: The Order for a Winter Guard of Shipping, for the Coasts of England and Ireland: The Instructions for the Deputy Lieutenants of Essex: The Order concerning the Three hundred Pounds in the Hands of Mr. Hill of Worcestershire, raised for Coat and Conduct Money in that County; and concerning the Magazine at Droitwich: The Order for Captain Tucker to go as One of the Committees into Ireland.

Protection to Duke of Vendosme, &c.

A Declaration of Protection and Security to be afforded to the Dukes of Vendosme, and D'Espernon, and Soubize, the Marquis of Vieuville, and the Lord Vabiquerville, presented from the Committee.

Twickenham Indemnity.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath; * * * *

The Lords have sent down an Order for the Indemnity of the Inhabitants of the Parish of Twickenham.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; And will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Ditto.

Ordered, That it be refered to the Committee unto Whom the Bussiness concerning the Duckes de Vendosme, &c. was referred, to consider of this Order concerning the Inhabitants of the Parish of Twickenham Training: And that it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of the Business of the Training of Wm. Hord, Tho. Brickford, George Audry, &c. and of Ewell in the County of Surrey.

The Judges.

Ordered, That Mr. Corbett do take Care of the Meeting of the Committee concerning the Judges.

Earl of Northampton's Tenants.

Ordered, That the Tenants of the Earl of Northampton be required to keep the Rents in their Hands, that are due and payable now to the Earl of Northampton; and that they do not pay any over unto the said Earl, or any of his Assigns or Deputies, until the House shall take farther Order: and especially that Mr. Edw. Lycoris, Mr. Cock, and Mr. Basil Smyth, who are Tenants to the said Earl of Northampton, and are now to pay Rents to the said Earl, do keep their said Rents in their Hands; and not pay them over unto the said Earl, or his Assigns, until the House take farther Order.

Person committed.

Resolved, That Wm. Thoroughgood shall be committed Prisoner to the Gatehowse, to be disposed of according to the Directions of the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom.

Prisoner discharged.

The Petition of Wm. Bowers, a poor Prisoner in Newgate, was this Day read; who was committed for being in Company of those that pillaged the Lady Savage's House: And

It is Ordered, in regard that the Goods which the said Bowers took are restored unto him again, That the said Bowers be forthwith discharged from any farther Imprisonment.

Shanaghane's &c. Petition.

The humble Petition of Derby Shanaghane and others, Prisoners in Newgate, who were sent Prisoners out of Scotland, was read.

Mr. Knightley is added to the Committee for Informations.

Examining Gilmore, &c.

Mr. Pym, Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Marten, Mr. Whittacre, are appointed to examine Captain Gilmore; and to prepare Heads for a Conference concerning the Discharge of Colonel Beling: And are to meet To-morrow Morning at Seven of Clock, in the Court of Wards.

Resolved, upon the Question, That a Conference shall be desired with the Lords, concerning the Discharge of Colonel Belinge.

Irish Affairs.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Ireland be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning; and then, next, the Report of the Conference.
