Prayers.

Privileges of a Member in a Suit.

UPON Information, That one Francis Robinson had commenced a Suit at Law against Robert Cady; and that the same was prosecuted by Arthur Paynter, his Attorney; in which Suit Colonel Robinson, a Member of this House, is concerned;

Ordered, That all Proceedings, in the Suit brought by Francis Robinson against the said Robert Cady, be staid during the Session of this Parliament.

Berwick's Election.

Ordered, That the Cause touching the Election for the Town of Berwick upon Tweed be put off till the Second Tuesday of the next Meeting of the House after the Recess: And that the same be then heard before the Committee of Elections: And the Mayor of Berwick and the Witnesses are then to attend: And the former Order made by the Committee of Elections, for the Hearing of this Cause, is discharged.

Navy Debt.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee to which the Petition of the Creditors of the Navy was formerly committed, to receive such Proposals as shall be offered; and report some Expedients to the House for Satisfaction of the Debts due to the said Creditors: And the Committee is revived; and they are to sit this Afternoon at Two of the Clock in the Speaker's Chamber.

Costs in Actions.

Mr. Steward reports from the Committee to which the Bill touching Costs in trivial and vexatious Actions was committed, some Amendments to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendments being twice read; and the Word " *," upon the Question, agreed to be added, after the Word " *," in the Amendment to the First Folio of the Bill; and these Words, "which shall be commenced after the Twelfth Day of April, which shall be in the Year of our Lord 1665," being agreed to be added to the Amendment to the * Folio of the Bill.

The Amendments, with those Additions agreed to;

But some Debate arising on the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be, upon the present Debate, re-committed to the former Committee: And that the Committee be revived; and do sit this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Place formerly appointed: And it is recommended to Mr. Steward to take care of the Bill; and to report it To-morrow Morning.

But some Debate arising on the Bill;

Cornwall Rivers.

Sir Charles Harbord reports from the Committee to which the Bill for making Rivers navigable in Cornewall, was committed, That the Committee had made some Amendments to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendments, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Lord Strangford's Estate.

Ordered, That Mr. Stanley, Mr. Roger Vaughan, Major General Egerton, Sir Anth. Cope, Sir Wm. Stroude, and Mr. Pitts, be added to the Committee to whom the Lord Strangford's Bill is committed.

Kirkby's Claim.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill for Satisfaction of a just Debt due to Colonel Kirkby by Henry Nevil Esquire, be made the first Report To-morrow Morning.

Members to be summoned.

Ordered, That there be a Summons sent to the Lord St. John and Mr. Henry Seymour, to require them, at their Peril, to attend the Service of this House Tomorrow Morning.

Damage Cleere.

An ingrossed Bill for taking away Damage Cleere was read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for Taking away Damage Cleere.

Delays in Judgments, &c.

An ingrossed Bill to prevent Delays in extending Statutes, Judgments, and Recognizances, was read the Third time.

The Question being put, That these Words, "upon a Statute hereafter to be acknowledged," be added to the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That this Proviso; viz. "Provided that this Act shall continue for the Space of Three Years, and from thence to the End of the next Session of Parliament, and no longer;" be added, and made Part of the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to prevent Delays in Extending Statutes, Judgments, and Recognizances.

Salt Marshes.

Resolved, &c. That the ingrossed Bill concerning salt Marshes be read the Third time To-morrow Morning.
