Lord Loughborough's Navigation.

A BILL to enable Henry Lord Loughborough to make the River and Sewer navigable from Bristoll Causey in Surrey, to the River of Thames, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Sir Henry Herbert, Sir Cliff. Clifton, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Colonel Sandys, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Rigby, Sir Nic. Berwick Election.

Resolved, &c. That the Order of the House, made Yesterday, for putting off the Cause touching the Election for the Town of Berwick upon Tweede, be discharged: And that the Order made by the Committee of Elections, for Hearing of the Cause, shall stand.

Repairing Highways.

An additional Bill for the better repairing and maintaining the Highways was read the Second time.

Kirkby's Claim.

Mr. Rigby reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Satisfaction of just Debt, due from Mr. Nevill to Colonel Kirkby, was committed, some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made, and some Clauses to be omitted, and others inserted into the Bill, in lieu thereof.

The Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The Clauses to be added, instead of That which is to be left out, was twice read.

And there being a Blank for a Sum to be inserted;

Resolved, That the Blank be filled up with the Sum of "One thousand Pounds."

Resolved, That this Clause; viz. "Forasmuch as it doth appear, that the said Robert Lord Lexington, Sir John Brampston, Sir Richard Wiseman, and Sir John Shaw, have duly executed their Trust, according to the Act of Parliament; and that there is no Money remaining in their Hands;" be inserted in the Proviso.

Several Petitions of Sir Thomas Nevill, and others, were read, and debated.

A Petition of Sir Henry Heron was read.

And a Proviso also, on his Behalf, was read the First time.

The Question being put, That this Proviso be read a Second time;

It passed in the Negative.

The Question being put, That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

So it was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, That it be referred to the same Committee, to examine the Reality of the Debts claimed by Sir Robert Cordell and Mr. Pask to be due upon Judgments; and to report the same, with their Opinion, to the House;

It passed in the Negative.

Debtor's Relief.

Ordered, That Sir Richard Vivian, Mr. Millward, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Low, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Mr. Westphaling, Mr. Chetwynd, and Sir Tho. Higgons, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners is committed.
