Officers of Arms v Honor Norton, widow of Sir Daniel Norton of Southwick, co. Hampshire, knt
November 1636 - February 1637
Abstract
This was a cause of office against Honor Norton for non-payment of fees due to the heralds on the funeral of her husband, Sir Daniel Norton. There were further proceedings against her on 28 January and 11 February 1637, but no indication of sentence survives.

Summary of proceedings
The counsel in this cause remain unknown. There were proceedings against Honor Norton on 28 January 1638 before the earl of Arundel, Lord Maltravers and Sir Henry Marten. There were further proceedings on 11 February 1637.

Honor was the daughter and coheir of Sir John White of Southwick, co. Southampton, and the widow of Sir Daniel Norton of Southwick, co. Southampton, who was the son of Sir Richard Norton and Catherine, daughter of John Kingsmill. Sir Daniel was knighted on 23 July 1603 and died on 4 July 1636.
