About the Standard pieces.
Bee it enacted by this present Parliament and by Authority of the same That the Councell of State bee and hereby they are Authorized to administer to the persons appointed to make the Standard tryall peices of gold and silver For makeing and Tryall of the Coynes of Gold and Siver of this Commonwealth the Oath following (viz.)
You shall sweare That according to your best skill and Judgements you shall make two Standard Tryall peices, the one peice in gold Commixed in proportion of xxij Carretts of Fine gold, and two Carretts of allay in the pound weight Troy of England, of such quantity as in your Discretions you shall thinke Fitt For the makeing of Fower Standard Tryall peices of the Commonwealths monyes of gold to be made in England, And one peice of silver Commixed in proportion of xien Ounces ijd weight of Fine silver and xviijd weight of Copper in the pound weight Troy of England of such Quantity as in your Discretions you shall thinke Fitt For the makeing of the Fower Standard Tryall peices of the Commonwealths monies of Silver to be made in England, The said Standard peices to be Indented and printed according to the pleasure of the Parliament Declared in the present Indentures between the keepers of the Liberty of England by Authority of Parliament and Aron Guerdon Master worker of the said monies.
