Trinity College and Mounson.

THE Amendments and Proviso on the Bill concerning an Exchange to be made between Trinity College in Cambridge and Sir Thomas Mounson, were this Day Twice read; and thereupon the Bill appointed to be ingrossed.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Naturalizing of Thomas Glover, Margaret Mordant, Frauncis Collymore, Alexander Daniell, Nicholas Gilpine, and Mary Copcote. Appointed to be ingrossed.

Witchcraft &c.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act against Conjuration, Witchcraft, and dealing with Evil and Wicked Spirits.

The said Bill against Conjuration and Witchcraft, together with the Bill for the Restitution of the Lord William Howard, &c. and the Bill for Naturalizing of Sir John Ramsey, were sent to the Lower House, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke, and Mr. Dr. Swale.

E. of Sussex. & excused.

The Earl of Sussex excused by my Lord of Worcester, for his Absence, by reason he had of late received some Hurt by a Fall from his Horse.

Message from the H. C.

Message sent from the Lower House, by Sir Frauncis Hastings and others, signifying, That, on Saturday was a Fortnight, a Conference was appointed by both Houses, for Matter of Religion; but afterwards deferred for greater Causes; which Causes being now towards an End, they desire some Appointment for that Meeting, and Conference about the said Matters of Religion.

Answer.

Answer returned, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke, Mr. Dr. Stanhope, and Mr. Dr. Swale, That their Lordships desired Meeting to be given for Conference touching those Causes Ecclesiastical upon Monday next, 14th May, by Two in the Afternoon at the Outward Chamber, near the Parliament Presence; whereunto the Lower House gave Signification of their Assent in this Manner, That they would be ready to meet at the said Time and Place appointed for Conference about Matters of Religion.

Report from the Conference concerning Purveyance.

Report made by the Lord Treasurer of the Substance of that which had past in the Conference this Day with the Sub-committees of the Lower House, about the Matter of Purveyance; wherein the said Sub-committees grew to this Conclusion, That they would make a Proposition unto the Lower House for the Sum of Fifty Thousand Pounds, yearly to be raised in the several Counties of the Realm, and to be yielded to His Majesty for all Purveyances whatsoever, concerning the Provisions of His House, or otherwise, so as the Authority and Commission of the Purveyors may hereafter utterly cease; and thereof the Lords should shortly receive Answer.

This Day, the Lord Chancellor took his Place as Baron Ellesmere, next unto the Lord Wotton.

Ld. Cecil takes his Seat.

The Lord Cecyll also took his Place as Baron Cecyll of Essingden, next unto the Lord Norreys.

Painters and Plaisterers.

It is Ordered by this Court, That whereas the Company of the Trade or Mystery of Painters have preferred a Bill into the said Upper House of Parliament, concerning certain Wrong pretented to be done to them by the Company of the Plaisterers, which Bill is referred to sundry of the Lords, who are appointed Committees to consider of the same, and for that Purpose they intend to meet upon Saturday next, the 12th of this Instant, by Seven of the Clock in the Morning, at the Little Chamber, near the Parliament Presence; that therefore the Master and Wardens of the said Company of Plaisterers shall attend upon the said Lords the Committees, at the Time and Place aforesaid, to alledge what they can in their own Behalf.
