The draughts of letters to the Governors and Commanders in Chief of New Hampshire, New Jersey. Massachusets Bay. Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and the Leeward Islands, in answer to several received from them having been prepared were agreed to, transcribed and signed.

St. Christopher's.

The draught of a representation to the Lords Justices proposing that Henry Sharpe, Esquire, may be appointed of the Council of St. Christopher's in the room of William Mathew Burt, who has signified that he has no intention of returning to that Island, having been laid before the Board, was agreed to, transcribed and signed.

New Hampshire.

Georgia.

The draughts of two additional instructions to the Governor of New Hampshire and one for the Governor of Georgia with reports to the Lords of the Committee of Council thereupon having been prepared pursuant to the minutes of the 29th of July, were laid before the Board and agreed to, and the reports having been transcribed were signed.

Georgia.

The draughts of two representations to the Lords Justices with the remonstrances of the Assembly of Georgia, mentioned in the minutes of the 29th of July, having been prepared pursuant to their lordships' order, were agreed to, transcribed and signed.

Nova Scotia.

The draught of a representation to the Lords Justices with a list of bedding wanting for the troops in Nova Scotia, having been prepared pursuant to the minutes of the 29th of July, was signed.

Virginia.

The draught of a representation to the Lords Justices proposing the confirmation of a private Act passed in Virginia in December, 1753, having been prepared pursuant to the minutes of the 29th of July, was signed.

Tuesday, August 12. Present:—Earl of Halifax, Mr. Pitt, Mr. Grenville, Mr. Fane, Mr. Edgcumbe, Mr. Pelham.

South Carolina.

Read an Order of the Lords Justices in Council, dated the 12th of August, 1755, approving a representation from this Board proposing Othniel Beal, Esquire, to supply a vacancy in the Council of South Carolina by the resignation of William Middleton, Esquire, and directing the usual warrant to be prepared.

Warrants in the usual form having been prepared were agreed to and a representation to the Lords Justices thereupon were signed.

Friday, August 29. Present:—Earl of Halifax, Mr. Pitt, Mr. Stone.

St. Christopher's.

Read an Order of the Lords Justices in Council, dated the 26th of August, 1755, approving a representation of this Board proposing Henry Sharpe, Esquire, to supply a vacancy in the Council of St. Christopher's by the resignation of William Mathew Burt, Esquire, and directing the usual warrant to be prepared.

A warrant in the usual form having been prepared was agreed to and a representation to the Lords Justices thereupon was signed.

Plantations General.

Read a letter from Claudius Amyand, Esquire, Secretary to the Lords Justices, dated the 26th of August, 1755, signifying their Excellencies' directions that this Board do cause copies to be made of the last returns transmitted to them, of the number of his Majesty's subjects in the several colonies of North America respectively, to be laid before the Lords Justices on Tuesday next.

An account of the number of white inhabitants in his Majesty's colonies in North America having been accordingly prepared was approved, and a representation to the Lords Justices thereupon was signed.
