Prayers.

Delinquents Estates.

ORDERED, by the Parliament, That the Word "additional" be added, next before the Word "Act," in the Ninth Line, in the Act for bringing in the Second Moieties upon Sale of Lands and Estates forfeited to the Commonwealth for Treason.

News Writer.

Resolved, That Marchamont Needham Gentleman be, and is hereby, restored to be Writer of the Publick Intelligence, as formerly.

Mr. Cranne.

Ordered, That Mr. John Cranne be referred to the Council of State, to consider him for a Pension, or to put him into some other Employment.

Letters read.

A Letter from Elsingore, of the 28th Day of July 1659, from the Plenipotentiaries of this Commonwealth, was read.

A Letter from the Mayor, and Aldermen, and others of the Militia for the Town of Nottingham, dated, from Nottingham, the 12th of August 1651, was read.

A Letter from Newarke, at Five of the Clock, being the 12th of August 1659, was read.

Militia Commissioners.

Resolved, That Lieutenant-Colonel George Rugeley, Robert Atkin Mayor of Boston, Francis Saunderson, John Tilson, John Tooley, Johu Ellis of Boston, John Rugeley, George Wawen, Lieutenant Colonel Pepper, Mr. * Morris of Lesingham, Mr. Jekill of Telney, Duke Tomlyn Gentleman, and William Hobson Esquire, be added Commissioners for the Militia for the County of Lyncolne: And that they be, and are hereby, impowered and authorized to act as fully, to all Intents and Purposes, as if they had been named in the Act for settling the Militia in England and Wales; and as fully as any other Commissioners in the said Act named are thereby enabled and impowered to do.

Militia Appointments.

A List of Names of Commission-Officers for the Militia of the Tower Hamlets was read: And the said Officers, upon the Question, approved of; and were as followeth; viz.

John Kent, Lieutenant to Captain John Canne.

John Sowdin to be Lieutenant, Robert Rowe to be Ensign to Lieutenant-Colonel Wm. Warren.

Elisha Earle to be Lieutenant to Major Edward Allen.

Militia Commissioners.

Greene of Ipswich, John Rivet Esquire, George Vertue, Anthony Burwood, Robert Goodwin Gentleman, Samuell Hasell, and Wm. Abbot of Sudbury, Gentleman, Edward Alston of Newton Gentleman, Francis Plumpstead Gentleman, John Cooke of Bury Gentleman, George Moody of Bury Gentleman, Richard Maltiward of Langham Gentleman, Jasper Shephard of Bury Gentleman, Phillip Haward, Robert Meene, John Browne of Bury, and Tho. Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to consider, How to dispose of the Horse and Foot raised by the Militia for the County of Suffolk; and also of the old Militia-Troops there.

Resolved, That Captain Blackwell be Captain of a Troop of Horse for the Militia in the County of Surrey.

Resolved, &c. That Wm. Nyn be, and is hereby, appointed Captain of the Troop of Horse for the Militia in the County of Middlesex, instead of Colonel Barkstead.

Irish Adventurers.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Act for settling Lands on the Adventurers and Soldiers in Ireland is referred, be enjoined to meet this Afternoon; and to report the Amendments to the said Bill, on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business; and nothing to intervene: And that Mr. Solicitor Reynolds do take care hereof.

Spanish Prisoners.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State, to take the Spanish Prisoners speedily into Consideration; for their present Relief: and to consider, How they may be disposed of.

Acts and Ordinances.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom it is referred to consider of the Acts and Ordinances, be revived; and do meet this Afternoon.

Militia Appointment.

Resolved, That Robert Wallop Esquire be, and is hereby approved of to be, Colonel of a Regiment of Horse, and to be Colonel of a Regiment of Foot, for the Militia Forces in the County of Southampton: And that Commissions be made out for him, accordingly: And that Mr. Solicitor-General do take care, that the said Commissions be prepared, accordingly.

New Forest.

Resolved, That Robert Wallop Esquire, the Lord Commissioner Lisle, Mr. Solicitor Reynolds, and Mr. Love, be and are constituted and appointed Wardens for the Preservation of the Timber, Vert, and Venison, in the New Forest in the County of Southampton: And that they, or any Three of them, do execute the Office of the said Wardens: And are required to take care for the Preservation of the said Timber, Vert, and Venison, in the said Forest, accordingly: And that they place such Persons to be employed as Officers and Rangers in the several Walks and Forests there, as may be most for the Safety of the Commonwealth.

Woolmer, &c. Forests.

Resolved, That Sir Henry Mildmay shall have the Command of the Forest of Woolmer, and of Holt Forest in the County of * : And is hereby constituted and appointed Commander of the said Forests, accordingly.

Publick Revenue.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill for settling the Revenue of this Commonwealth be reported Tomorrow Morning.

Southampton Militia.

Ordered, That Mr. Wallop be, and is hereby, required to go into the County of Southampton, to settle the Militia there.

Militia Commissions.

The House being informed, that some Officers of the Militia, and other Officers, were at Door;

They were called in: And, coming up to the Clerk's Table, Mr. Speaker acquainted them with the great Trust reposed in them by the Parliament; and that the Parliament expected Faithfulness from them to the Parliament and Commonwealth: And thereupon Mr. Speaker delivered them their Commissions; viz.

To Major Arthur Evelyn, his Commission to be Captain of the Life-Guard to attend the Parliament, and Council of State:

To Lieutenant George Cox, his Commission; to Lieutenant Robert Malbone, his Commission; to Lieutenant John Lutman, his Commission; to be Lieutenant of a Company in Colonel John Foach his Regiment:

To Ensign Richard Tinden, his Commission; to Ensign Tho. Peirson, his Commission; to Ensign Tho. Ashby, his Commission; to be Ensign of a Company in Colonel Jo. Foach his Regiment.

Militia Appointments.

A List of the Names of Commission-Officers for the Militia in the County of Sussex was read; and, upon the Question, approved; and was as followeth: viz.

Colonel John Fagg, Captain; Henry Punckhurst, Lieutenant; Geo. Taylor, Cornet; Tho. Parsons, Quarter-master; for the Western Troop.

Tho. Fisenden, Captain; Walter Everenden, Lieutenant; Tho. Peckham, Cornet; Wm. Benbridge, Quartermaster; for the Eastern Troop.

Resolved, That Colonel John Fagg be Commander in Chief of these Forces, and of such other Militia-Forces as shall be raised in the said County; and that Commissions be made for the said respective Officers, accordingly: And that Colonel Morley do take care to prepare the said Commissions, accordingly.

Ordered, That Francis Paine, John Hanson, Richard Tirrell, Robert Paine, Joell Steevens, * Kirby of Wallingford, Robert Lush, John Gillott, John Mates, and Mr. Robert Mates, be added Commissioners for the Militia in the County of Berks: And that they be, and are hereby, impowered and authorized to act as fully, to all Intents and Purposes, as if they had been named Commissioners in the Act for settling the Militia in England and Wales, and as fully as any other Commissioners, in the said Act named, are thereby impowered and enabled to do.

Militia Commissioner.

Ordered, That Thomas Nicholls of Watford be added a Commissioner for the Militia in the County of Hertford: And that he be, and is hereby, authorized and impowered to act as fully, to all Intents and Purposes, as if he had been named a Commissioner in the Act for settling the Militia in England and Wales; and as fully as any other Commissioner, in the said Act named, is thereby impowered and enabled to do.

Judgment against Lilburne.

A Bill, ingrossed, avoiding of a Judgment, and of an Act for Execution of the said Judgment, given against Lieutenant-Colonel John Lilburne, was this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, That these Words; viz. "Judgment given by this Parliament the 15th Day of January 1651, against the said John Lilburne, and the;" be added in the Eleventh Line, before the Word "aforesaid;" and that the Words "in them" be inserted, instead of the Word "therein;" and that these Words, "and given," be added, at the End of this Act: And the said Bill, so amended, being put to the Question, passed.

Attendance on the Speaker.

Resolved, That the Marshal, and his Six Men, who did formerly attend Mr. Speaker, do give their Attendance on Mr. Speaker, as formerly; and that they be paid as formerly.
