Thursday, the 30 th of October, 1651.

Prayers.

Isle of Jersey.

MR. Bond reports, from the Council of State, a Letter from the Leagure before Mount Argull Castle in Jersey, of the 27th of October 1651, from Colonel James Heane; and another Letter from aboard the Happy Entrance in the Road of St. Katherine, of the 26th of October 1651, from Admiral Blake; and also a Narrative of the Taking of the Island of Jersey: Which were all this Day read.

Ordered, That William Heane, Son of Colonel James Heane, have One hundred Pounds bestowed upon him, as a Gratuity from the Parliament: And that it be referred to the Council of State, to see the same paid to him, accordingly.

Ordered, That Cornet John Dober have Fifty Pounds bestowed upon him, as a Gratuity from the Parliament: And that it be referred to the Council of State, to see the same paid to him accordingly.

Preachers appointed.

Ordered, That Mr. Obadiah Sedwick be desired to preach before the Parliament, at Margarett's, Westminster, on the Fifth of November next; and that Sir Peter Wentworth do give Mr. Sedgwick Notice hereof.

Thanksgiving.

Ordered, That the Ministers in the several Congregations in the Cities of London and Westminster, and the late Lines of Communication, and weekly Bills of Mortality, do, on the Fifth of November next, render humble Thanks to Almighty God, for his great Mercy vouchsafed to this Commonwealth, in the gaining of the Isle of Jersey; and that the Lord Mayor of London do take Care to give Notice to the Ministers of the several Congregations, accordingly.

Nominating Sheriffs.

Ordered, That on Tuesday Morning next the Business of nominating the Sheriffs be taken into Consideration.

A Prisoner discharged.

Resolved, That Captain William Bray, now Prisoner in Windsore Castle, be discharged from his Imprisonment; and that Mr. Speaker do issue a Warrant for his Discharge, accordingly.

Preachers appointed.

Resolved, That Mr. Sterry be desired to preach before the Parliament, at Margarett's, Westminster, on the Fifth Day of November next: And that Sir Gilbert Pickering do give him Notice hereof.

Navy.

Mr. Bond reports, from the Committee of the Navy, a List of Ships and Vessels offered for the Winter Guard; with their Force of Men and Guns, and the several Stations they are appointed unto, for the Coasts of England, Ireland, and Scotland.

Which was this Day read.

Resolved, That this House doth agree to this List.

Ordered, That Power be given to the Council of State, to change any of the Officers, Ships, or their Stations, as they shall think fit.

Delinquents Estates.

Ordered, That the Report from Goldsmith's-Hall, touching Money, be taken up To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Chair to be taken.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair Tomorrow Morning, at Eight of Clock, notwithstanding the former Order; and that the Grand Committee do forbear to sit that Day.

Lord Herbert's &c. Estates.

The humble Petition of Henry Lord Herbert, of Ragland, was this Day read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the former Committee, touching the Lord Herbert, to consider of this Business; and if they find the Petitioner hath just Title to the Land, to present some Lands to the Parliament for the Petitioner's Satisfaction, in Consideration thereof.

Ordered, that it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of the Lands settled upon Mr. Peters, to which the Lady Anne Somersett maketh Title; and if they find her Title thereunto to be just, that then the said Committee do present some other Lands to be settled upon the said Lady, in Lieu and Satisfaction of her Title to those Lands.
