Prayers.

Bristoll Ministers.

AN Act for the more frequent Preaching of the Gospel, and better Maintenance of the Ministers in the City of Bristoll, was this Day read the Third time; and, upon the Question, after some Amendments at the Table, passed; and ordered to be printed and published.

A Tenement to be delivered up.

Ordered, That the Slaughter House belonging to the late King, with the Yards, and all other Appurtenances thereunto belonging, situate upon the Mill Banck in the City of Westminster, be and is hereby ordered and appointed for a Store-house for Coals, and other Fuel, for the Use and Service of the Parliament: And that the Possession of the said House, with the Appurtenances, be forthwith delivered to Edward Birkhead Esquire, Serjeant at Arms attending the Parliament: And all Person or Persons, whom it doth concern, are required to deliver up the Possession thereof to the said Edward Birkhead accordingly: And the Trustees and Contractors for Sale of the Crown Lands are required and injoined to forbear to proceed in the Sale of the said Slaughter House and Premises: And that the same be kept from Sale, and reserved for the Use aforesaid.

Ministers Maintenance.

Mr. Weaver reports Amendments to the Act for providing Maintenance for Preaching Ministers: Which were twice read.

Resolved, That the Committee for regulating the Universities be the Committee in this Act.

Universities.

Ordered, That Mr. Ralegh, Mr. H. Nevill, Mr. Darley, Mr. Dove, Mr. Weaver, Earl of Pembroke, Mr. Say, Earl of Salisbury, Sir Richard Lucy, Mr. Aldworth, Mr. Dixwell, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Sir Wm. Masham, Lord Howard, Colonel Harrison, Colonel Wauton, Colonel Jones, Mr. Masham, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Edward Ashe, Sir Henry Mildmay, Sir James Harrington, Mr. Pierpoint, Colonel Barker, Mr. Challoner, Colonel Fleetwood, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Richard Darley, Mr. Whittaker, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Millington, Mr. Clement, Mr. Baker, Alderman Pennyngton, Alderman Atkins, Mr. Brewster, Sir Gilbert Pickering, be added to the Committee for regulating the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Ministers Maintenance.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee to whom this Bill was committed, to bring in Instructions for the Trustees; and one of them to be for the Easing of those whose Rents were taken away by the late King, or the Scotts, or any other Army or Authority: And that they be not called to Account for the Rents . . . Arrear during those Times, and compelled to pay the same again.

The Amendments, being put to the Question, were agreed.

A Clause was tendered to this Act, in these Words: "And because the Ancestors of the Walloones of Norwich have been received at the said City of Norwich; and have enjoyed the Benefit of a Preaching Minister of their own Language, to their Congregation, for the Comfort of their Souls; and now their Poverty is such, they cannot provide competent Maintenance; Be it therefore Enacted, by the Authority aforesaid, That the said Trustees, their Heirs and Assigns, shall allow, and cause to be paid, yearly, for the pious and godly Use aforesaid, unto the Minister for the Time being, of the said Congregation of Walloons in the City of Norwich, the Sum of Forty Pounds; which said Sum shall be so employed only, and to no other Use, Intent, or Purpose whatsoever; And that Peter D' Assignee Minister, shall have the said yearly Forty Pounds during his Life, if he continue Minister to the said Congregation:" Which was read.

And the Question being put, That it be read the Second time.

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That there be an Instruction brought in, upon the Debate of the House; That the Trustees have respect to the immediate Tenants, in leasing the Premises at reasonable Rents.

Resolved, That the Time of the Continuance of this Act shall be Three Years.

And the Bill, so amended, . . . . ordered to be ingrossed, and brought in This-day-sevennight.

Incest and Adultery.

Mr. Weaver reports Amendments to the Bill against Incest, Adultery, and Fornication: Which were twice read: And adjourned the Debate to This-day-sevennight; and then to be taken up the first Business.
