Court for trying the King.

AN Ordinance touching the King, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, committed unto Mr. Blakiston, Colonel Venne, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Frye, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Millington, Mr. Scott, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Thomas Challener, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Serjeant Thorpe, Sir John Danvers, Mr. John Goodwyn, Mr. Henry Martyn, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Anlabye, Mr. Leman, Lord Gray, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Humphry Edwards, Mr. Love, Mr. Darley, Colonel Bosevile, Lieutenant General Cromwell, Mr. Garland, Mr. Blagrave, Mr. James Challener, Mr. Browne, Mr. Purefoy, Mr. Allen, Mr. Say, Alderman Atkins, Sir Wm. Constable, Alderman Pennington:

This Committee is to meet this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And that all that will come are to have Voices.

Weavers Company.

Ordered, That the Business concerning the Commonalty of the Company of Weavers be heard, the first Business, To-morrow Morning.

Customs.

Mr. Miles Corbett reports from the Committee of the Navy, the Answer of the Commissioners of the Customs, touching the Loan of Six thousand Pounds, for the present Use of the Navy.

"The Commissioners of the Customs, having seriously considered of the Proposition made unto them by the honourable Committee of the Navy and Customs, in pursuance of an Order of the honourable House of Commons, dated 26 Decembris instant, for advancing the Sum of Six thousand Pounds, for the present Supply of the Navy, upon the old and petty Customs, do humbly answer,"

"That as they, upon all Occasions, have been, so they still are, most willing to manisest their Readiness to serve the Publick: In order whereunto, although they find that the Value of the said Customs doth not exceed Five thousand Pounds per Annum, and notwithstanding their present deep Engagements, and the great Difficulty of raising Monies at this time; nevertheless, if the honourable Houses of Parliament shall be pleased, by Ordinance, to charge the said Sum of Six thousand Pounds, now desired to be advanced, upon the Receipts of the said ancient and petty Customs, payable to the Crown; and to settle the Collection thereof in the said Commissioners, and such as they shall appoint, for their better Security, until the said Six thousand Pounds, with Interest after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, for the Forbearance thereof, to be quarterly paid, shall, out of the said Receipts, be fully reimbursed unto the said Commissioners (all incident and necessary Charges arising upon the said Collections, and the Bringing in thereof, being defalked, without any Recompence for their own Pains therein); the said Commissioners, upon passing the said Ordinance to the Purposes aforesaid, are willing forthwith to advance to the Parliament, by way of Loan, the said Sum of Six thousand Pounds, now proposed by the honourable Committee to be advanced by the said Commissioners.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Revenue, at the Navy: Who are to meet this Afternoon, and to confer with the Commissioners of the Customs, How the old and petty Customs may be settled for Security, for the Reimbursing of the Sum of Six thousand Pounds, to be lent by the Commissioners of the Customs, for present Supply of the Navy: And that an Ordinance be brought in to that Purpose: With Power also to consider of the supernumerary and unnecessary Officers upon this Receipt; and of the Manner of Collecting thereof; and present their Opinions thereupon to the House.

Irish Affairs.

An Ordinance declaring, That the Ports of Youghall, Cork, Kingsale, and other Parts and Places in the Province of Munster, in the Kingdom of Ireland, now under the Command of the Lord Inchequeene, be Ports and Places to which Commerce is prohibited, under the Penalties, in former Ordinances therein mentioned, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Navy.

Ordered, That the Letter of the Lord Admiral from Warwick House, of 21 Decembris 1648, and the Indemnity of the Lord Admiral unto Captain Wm. Batten, now called Sir Wm. Batten, Captain Elias Jordan, and Captain Robert Dare, be referred to the Committee of the Navy; to inquire of the Lord Admiral, the Names of the Vice Admiral and Rear Admiral, and also the Names of all the Captains of the Ships; and acquaint the House therewith To-morrow Morning.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy to confer with the Lord Admiral; and to take care that the Ship called the Constant Warwick be bought for the Use of the State: And that the said Ship be not disposed of without Order of this House.

Delinquents.

Mr. Allen reports, from Goldsmiths Hall, a List of the Names of such Delinquents who have been fined, and have paid no part of their Monies; and also the Particular of Delinquents Names, and their Sums, yet unpaid, and due from them, by their Bonds, for their last Payments; and also the Payments charged, in Course, out of the Moiety not engaged for the Army; and the Charges, in Course, out of the Moiety charged for Payment of the Army; and also what Monies are yet unpaid to several Men out of Particular Mens Compositions by several Orders of Parliament.

Ordered, That the several Papers reported be referred to a Committee; to consider thereof, and of the Persons who have compounded; and of the Sums by them owing; and of the Sums charged, and to whom; and of all other Particulars concerning the said Papers and Persons; and to present their Opinions to this House; viz. unto Colonel Venne, Mr. Miles Corbett, Mr. Leman, Colonel Harvey, Mr. Blakiston, Lord Gray, Colonel Bosevile, Mr. Henry Marten, Mr. Garland, Mr. Allen, Mr. Scott, Mr. Millington.
