PRAYERS.
Rochester Guards.
A LETTER from the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Kent, of the 15 Junii.
Ordered, That the Treasurers in the County of Kent, of the Monies that come in upon the Ordinance of the Twentieth and Fifth Part, in the said County, do forthwith pay, out of the said Monies, Three hundred Pounds, upon Account, to Captain Rich. Lee; for Satisfaction of the Arrear to the Guards at Rochester Bridge, and for the further Pay of the said Guard: And that an Acquittance under the Hand of the said Captain Lee, together with the Copy of this Order, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to the said Treasurers and Receivers, for so much as they shall issue forth, and pay, by virtue of this Order.
Trained Bands, &c.
An Ordinance for punishing Neglects in the Soldiers of the Trained Bands, and Guards, was this Day read; and committed unto Sir Wm. Armyn, Sir Gilb. Gerard, Sir Roger North, Sir Peter Wroth, Mr. Rich. Lee, Mr. Cage, Sir H. Anderson, Sir Jo. Corbett, Sir Ro. Pye, Sir Oliver Luke, Sir Jo. Hippisley, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Tate, Mr. Browne, Mr. Fienis, Sir Rich. Onslow, Sir Wm. Strickland, Sir Edw. Boysc: And all that will coine to have Voices: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber.
Deane's Sequestration.
Ordered, That the Five hundred Pounds to be paid by Mr. Clerke to Mr. Deane, an ill-affected Person, now in the King's Army, in whose Hands soever it be stayed and seized, be paid by them, in whose Custody soever it be, upon Account, unto Mr. Trenchard, to be employed for the Service of the Forces under the Command of Sir Wm. Waller: And that an Acquittance under the Hand of Mr. Trenchard, together with a Copy of this Order, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to those in whose Custodies the said Monies are; and likewise, an Indemnity to Mr. Clerke, against Mr. Deane.
Canterbury City.
Ordered, That the Fourteen Pounds Ten Shillings and Two-pence, Surplusage Monies of the Bill of Four hundred thousand Pounds collected in the County of the City of Canterbury, shall remain still in the Hands of the Mayor of Canterbury, to be disposed of for Payment of such Disbursements as they have been, or shall be at, in sending back the Soldiers to the Army.
Ricaut's Sequestration.
Ordered, That Sir Christ. Yelverton do desire Signior Amerig' Salvietti, Agent to the Duke of Toscanie, to deliver and pay in, for the Service of the State, all such Monies and Plate, as are in his Hands, belonging to Sir Peter Ricaut; and that he shall be indemnified, for so doing, by the Authority of Parliament.
Ordered, That Mr. Nicholas and Mr. Hill do prepare an Ordinance for the Indemnity of the East India Company, in paying in the Monies and Adventure of Sir Peter Ricaut's.
Ordered, That the Committee shall have Power to send for some of the East India Company, and the Bookkeepers, and treat with them concerning the Debts and Adventure of Sir Peter Ricaut; and how they can advance ready Monies upon the Sale of this Adventure: And they are to give an Account hereof To-morrow Morning.
Army Pay.
Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Millington, Sir H. Vane jun. Sir Wm. Armyn, Sir Gilb. Gerard, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Ellis, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Hodges, Sir Wm. Strickland, Sir Christ. Yelverton, Sir Jo. Curson, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Jo. Wray, Mr. Hatcher, Mr. Strode, Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Holland, Mr. Ashe, Mr. Bond, Sir Rob. Pye, Mr. Nicolls;
This Committee is to consider how the Forces in the Northern Parts, and Western Parts, may be constanty monthly paid: And the Care of this Business is especially recommended unto Sir Wm. Strickland and Mr. Millington: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records, &c.
Payment to Sir W. Waller.
Ordered, That Mr. Trenchard do forthwith pay over Two thousand Pounds to Mr. Ashe, who has undertaken to pay the same speedily to Sir Wm. Waller, below in the Country.
Ordered, That Mr. Nicoll do prepare a Letter for Mr. Speaker's signing, to be sent to Sir Wm. Waller, to acquaint him with what Course this House has taken for present Pay to be made.
Removing Hotham.
Ordered, That it be left to my Lord General to remove Captain Hotham from the Place where now he is; and to dispose of him in some such Place, for his Security, as he shall think fit.
Intercourse with King's Quarters.
An Ordinance to hinder and prevent the Intercourse between these Places, and the King's or Queen's Quarters, was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto.
Listing Horses, &c.
The House being informed that there were some Gentlemen at the Door, from the Common Council, and the Committee for the Militia, they were called in; and Mr. Estwick delivered in a Petition from the Lord Mayor, Court of Aldermen, and Common Council, concerning the listing of Horses within the Cities of London, Westminster, and Twelve Miles Compass:
They withdrew: And then the Petition was read; and ordered to be communicated to the Lords at the Conference appointed Yesterday to be desired, concerning the listing of Horses.
They were again called in: And Mr. Speaker, by the Command of the House, told them, that they had taken the Petition into Consideration; that they perceive in it a continual Care, in the City, for the Safety of the Kingdom and Parliament; for which he is commanded to return them Thanks: And for the Matter of the Petition, they have put it in such a way, as they doubt not but they shall have a good Issue of it.
The House being informed, that they had something further to say; they were again called in: And Mr. Estwick, in the Name of the rest, did present the Desire of the Committee for the Militia; that Mr. Wilcox might have the like Order for being one of the Auditors of the Army, according to my Lord General's Warrant, as Mr. Broad formerly had.
Resolved, &c. That Mr. Rich. Wilcocks, Auditor, shall have as large and full an Order to be Auditor of the Army, according to my Lord General's Warrant, as was formerly granted to Mr. Broad; and is hereby required to execute the same.
Sir Rob. Pye is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, concerning the Ordinance for listing of Horses.
Sir Ro. Pye brings Answer, that the Lords will give a present Meeting, as is desired.
Affairs in Norfolk.
Ordered, That Sir Jo. Holland, and Sir Jo. Potts, do forthwith go down into the County of Norfolk, to contribute their Endeavours to the Preservation of that County; and to advance the Service of the Parliament there.
Le Gros', &c. Fines.
Ordered, That the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Norfolk do forthwith levy the Two hundred Pounds apiece, imposed upon Sir Charles le Gros and Mr. Catlyn, by way of Fine, for not appearing at the time limited within an Order of this House, requiring them to attend the Service of the House, according as by their Duty to their Country they ought to do.
Relief of Widows, &c.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir Rob. Riche and Dr. Aylett;
The Lords desire to put this House in mind, that formerly they gave Notice to this House, of the Addition of Power they had given to their Committees of Sequestrations for relieving of Widows, Orphans, &c.; and likewise, to answer some Queries: And they desire, that your Committee may be armed with the same Power: And that they had added Two Lords more to their Committee; and desire this House would add a proportionable Number.
Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own, speedily.
Impeachment of the Queen.
Mr. Strode is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, so soon as may stand with their Lordships Conveniency, concerning the Articles of Impeachment in Maintenance of the Accusation of the Queen of High Treason.
Letter to Sir W. Waller.
A Letter to be sent from Mr. Speaker to Sir Wm. Waller, was read; and assented unto.
Boswell's Exhibits to States General.
Two Letters from Sir Wm. Strickland; one, to Mr. Speaker, of the Fourth of June; another, of the Sixteenth, to Mr. Pym; and certain Exhibits, exhibited in French, to the States General; were all read: And Mr. Pym, Mr. Rous, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Whittacre, Mr. Oldisworth;
This Committee, or any Two of them, is appointed to consider of the Exhibits, exhibited by Sir Wm. Boswell; and to prepare an Answer to them: And they are to translate the said Exhibits into English.
Ordered, That the Committee for Sequestrations in the County of Kent, do sequester the Estates of Sir Jo. Mayny, Sir Philip Carterett, and Sir Wm. Boswell.
Exchange of Prisoners.
Upon the reading of a Letter from the Earl of Forth to my Lord General, of his Willingness to exchange Prisoners in general: Whereupon it was Ordered, That my Lord General shall be desired to consider of Three fit Persons to be exchanged for the Three Members of the House of Commons, Prisoners at Oxforde; and of the Exchange of Prisoners in general, according to the Rules of War: And that Mr. Pym do write a Letter to my Lord General.
Queen of Bohemia.
The Question being put, whether Three thousand Pounds shall be paid, out of the King's Revenue, to the Queen of Bohemia;

Upon this Report, Mr. Speaker acquainted the House, that Sir Antho. Irby, and Mr. *, were here present at the Vote, and yet remained in the Committee Chamber, during the Time the House was divided: Whereupon, they were enjoined to deliver their Vote: The one being for the Yea; the other for the Noe;
Resolved, upon the Question, That Three thousand Pounds shall be paid, out of the King's Revenue, to the Queen of Bohemiah.
Resolved, &c. That the Word "forthwith" shall be added to this Order.
Petition to be considered.
Ordered, That the Petition sent down from the Lords, shall be taken into Consideration To-morrow.
Scotts Army in Ireland.
That after the Twenty-eight thousand Pounds, already ordered by the House, be paid, out of the Sequestrations; that then the Merchants, that undertake to pay Ten thousand Pounds, in Dollars, beyond the Seas, for the Use of the Scotts Army in Ireland, shall be reimbursed their Monies, with Interest, (if any shall happen to be due) out of the Ordinance of Sequestrations: And that no Monies shall be disposed of, by any Order of this House, until the Merchants be fully satisfied, and paid.
