PRAYERS.

Goods stayed.

ORDERED, That the Order of 3° Januarii, concerning the Goods of divers Merchants of London, stayed at Hull and Cawood, by Captain Hotham, be extended, to injoin Captain Hotham, and all others to whom it do ... may concern, forthwith to deliver the same.

Members accede to Covenant.

Mr. Selden, and the Lord Mounson, declared themselves in the Affirmative to the Vote of adhering to the Earl of Essex.

Tin Farmers Petition.

The humble Petition of the Farmers, for the Preemption of Tin, was this Day read: And

It is Ordered, to be referred to the Committee for Dispatches: And Mr. Maynard is added to that Committee.

Ship, &c. to be sold.

Ordered, That the Barque and Goods brought from the Harbour of Foye in Cornewall, by certain Mariners of London, be sold for the Use of the Navy: And that the Seamen that brought her about, be rewarded out of the said Ship and Goods: And it is referred to the Committee of the Navy is to assign this Reward.

Ship Adventure.

Ordered, That the Ship, The Adventure, of Dublyn, whereof John Hendon is Captain, be listed in the Fleet, in the Parliament's Pay: And it is referred to the Committee of the Navy to take Order herein accordingly.

Payment to Navy Treasurer.

Ordered, That the Two hundred and Eighty Pounds, taken at Sir Nicolas Crispe his House, and carried to Guildhall, by Colonel Manwaring and Captain Harvey, by a former Order of this House, be forthwith delivered by the Treasurers at Guildhall, London, to Sir H. Vane, Treasurer of the Navy; it appearing to be Monies belonging to the Receipt of the Customs.

Execution of Boyse.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the Petition of divers Citizens of London, concerning the putting to Death of Mr. Henry Boyse at Readin, be referred to the Committee for maimed Soldiers.

Allowance to Prisoners.

Ordered, That the Knights and Burgesses of Kent and Hampshire be added to the Committee for Prisoners, where Sir Robert Harley has the Chair: And it is referred to that Committee to consider, What is fit to be allowed to such Prisoners as are not able to maintain themselves; so that it be not above Six-pence per diem.

Merchant Adventurers.

The humble Petition of the Governor, Assistants, and Fellowships of Merchant Adventurers of England, was this Day read; and no Question put upon it at this time.

Answer from the King.

Mr. Pierrepointe reports from the Committee that was sent to Oxon, That the King spake a few Words, and then delivered his Answer in Writing; which is now remaining with the Lords, and will be sent hither shortly.

Master of the Rolls.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker be injoined still Keeper ... the Keys of the Rolls and Records; and continue the Possession of the House: And that the Profits of the said Place, taken and received, or to be received, by any of the Clerks, or Collectors of the Casual Fines, be forthwith paid in to the Treasurers of the Guildhall, London, upon Account, to be employed for the Service of the Commonwealth, till the House take farther Order: And that Mr. Speaker do take Order, that the said Profits be accordingly, from time to time, paid in: And that he do receive the Accounts from the said Clerks, and other Officers.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, concerning the Place of the Master of the Rolls: And that One Head of that Conference be, That Sir Ro. Riche be required to deliver in the Deputation that he has received from Sir Jo. Colepeper, of the said Place; he being a Commoner, and the Thing itself being against the Desire of both Houses, presented unto his Majesty, and before his Majesty had given any Answer to that Request.

Sir Walter* is appointed to desire this Conference.

Powder seized.

Ordered, That the Fifty-seven Barrels of Powder seized in Mr. Pampion's Warehouse, by Hamphry Bury, and carried to Guildhall, belonging to Captain Jordain, Captain of the Ship Cæsar, in the Parliament Service, be forthwith delivered unto the said Captain Jordain.

Delinquents Estates.

Ordered, That the Committee, appointed to consider of sequestring the Estates of Persons in actual War against the Parliament, shall also have Power to consider of sequestring the Estates of such other Delinquents, as the Committee shall think fit to present to this House: And Mr. Darly, Mr. Hoyle, Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Browne, Sir Nevil Poole, Sir Tho. Walsingham, Mr. Barwis, Mr. Bond, Mr. Ric. Moore, Mr. Hodges, Mr. Lisle, Sir Tho. Barrington, Sir Pet. Wroth, Mr. Jo. Moore, Mr. Glyn, Sir Jo. Curson, Mr. Ashton, Mr. Purefey, are added to this Committee.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath;

Sutten Marsh.

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you this Order, concerning Sutton Marsh in Lincolneshire; in which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The which was read.

Ordered, That the Answer to this Message shall be, That this House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordered, That Sir Wm. Armyn, Sir H. Vane, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Grimston, and Sir Jo. Wray, do prepare a Letter, to be sent to the Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants, Justices of Peace, of the County of Lincolne, for the Preventing and Suppressing of all such Tumults and Riots, and unlawful Assemblies, in that County.

Securing Nevile's Estate.

Ordered, That Sir. Rich. Everard and Timothy Middleton, Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Essex, shall have Power to nominate and appoint Commissioners, to be accountable unto them for the Securing and Ordering of the Estate of Mr. Nevile, seized by Order of this House: That the fat Cattle taken upon his Grounds, and the fat Hogs, be all sent up, to be employed for the Service of the Navy: Of all which they are to give an Account to this House, according to former Order.

Taking of Circenster.

A Letter from Devizes, of the Fourth of February, concerning the Town of Circenster, taken by Prince Rupert's Forces, was read.

Leans for Western Parts.

Ordered, That Mr. Ashe do, To-morrow, bring in an Ordinance, for securing such Monies upon the Publick Faith, as shall be advanced for the Service of the County of Wiltess, and the Western Parts.

King's Answer to Propositions.

A Messages from the Lords by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath;

The Lords desire a present Meeting, at a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning an Answer that they have received by the Committees sent to his Majesty.

Answer returned by the same Messengers;

This House has considered their Lordships Message; and will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Holles, Mr. Pym, Mr. Glyn, Mr. Marten, Mr. Pierrepointe, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Mr. Pierrepointe reports, from the Conference, That the Committees of Lords and Commons came not to Oxon till Wednesday Night late: They thought not to have attended his Majesty till the next Day; but his Majesty sent presently to attend them: And that his Majesty spake some Words.
