PRAYERS.

Prisoner released.

ORDERED, That Wm. Payne, returned by Habeas Corpus from the Prison at Bathe, be forthwith released; and not imprisoned for the same Cause, till the House be first acquainted therewith.

Dep. Lieuts. of Derby.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth nominate and approve of Sir Geo. Gresley, Sir Jo. Curzon, Knights and Baronets; Sir Jo. Gell, Sir Edw. Coke, Baronets; Sir Edw. Vernon Knight; Sir Jo. Coke junior, Knight; Sir Sam. Sleigh, Knight; SirEdw. Leech; Tho. Gresley, Francis Burdett, Christopher Horton, Francis Munday, Tho. Gell, F. Revell, Henry Wigfall, Nath. Hallowes, Esquires, to be Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Derby: And the Lords Concurrence to be desired herein: And that these Deputy Lieutenants, or any Two of them, shall have full Power to do and execute all things, according to the Ordinance for the Militia, in as full, ample Manner, as if they had received Deputations from the Lieutenant of that County.

Resolved, That the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Derby shall have Power to disarm and secure the Persons of such as have shewed themselves disaffected to the Proceedings of the Parliament; or have not contributed to the Publick Charge in this Time of common Danger.

This Order to be made general for all Counties: And the Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Ordered, That Sir Jo. Coke do attend forthwith the Service of the House; and that he declare himself, before he be intrusted as a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Derby.

Person committed.

Ordered, That Jo. Smyth Trumpeter, now in the Serjeant's Custody, be forthwith committed to the Prison of the Gatehouse; there to remain during the Pleasure of the House.

Ditto.

Ordered, That Tiser, Master of the Ship that brought Officers and Soldiers to Yarmouth, now in the Serjeant's Custody, be forthwith committed Prisoner to the Compter in Southwarke.

Prisoner discharged.

Ordered, That Mr. Jo. Wentworth, now in the Serjeant's Custody, upon his humble Petition, be forthwith discharged.

Apprehending Troopers, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee for Examinations shall have Power to grant Warrants, to fitting People, for the Apprehending and Staying of Troopers and their Horses; and likewise straggling Soldiers and their Arms.

Bailing a Prisoner.

Ordered, That Mr. Bennett, a Prisoner in the Compter, be forthwith bailed.

Money due to E. of New-castle.

Ordered, That Mr. Robert Crane and Mr. Edw. Bridgenell, who are to pay unto the Earl of Newcastle an Hundred Pounds Rent, upon a Forfeiture, on the 7th or 8th of November, do send up their Money to the Chamber of London.

Mayor of Lancaster.

Ordered, That the Burgesses of the Town of Lancaster shall proceed in the Election of their Mayor, according to their accustomed Course of Elections; notwithstanding any Privy Seal, or other Directions, to them delivered to the contrary.

Money, &c. seized.

Ordered, That Wm. Hitchcock Constable do carry unto the Guildhall, London, the Thirty-six Pounds, and the Two Guns, and other Things, which he took from one Smyth, whom the Lord Mayor committed to the Prison of Newgate; the said Hitchcock having carried the said Money to the Wife of the said Smyth; and she refused to receive it.

Loan from the City.

WHEREAS the Lord Mayor, and divers Citizens of the City of London, out of their good Affections to the Safety of the City and Commonwealth, in this Time of Danger, and upon Report of an Army approaching towards the City, are raising of Volunteers, to be listed under the Command of the Earl of Warwick; and will advance Money, by way of Loan, for their weekly Payments, upon the Publick Faith to be repaid all such Monies that shall be disbursed: It is this Day Ordered, by the and Commons, That all such as shall furnish Men and Monies in the said Service, shall be repaid them all such Monies as they shall disburse or advance in this said Service; and for the true Repayment thereof shall have the Publick Faith of the Kingdom: The which the Lords and Commons do hereby give unto them.

Apprehending Gifford, &c.

BY virtue of an Order of the Commons House of Parliament, These are to will and require you forthwith to take into your Custody the Body of Mr. John Gifford Doctor in Divinity, Benjamin Stone and Thomas Swadline Clerks; and them to detain and keep in safe Custody, until the said House do take farther Order.
