Sir Francis Bacon reporteth from the Committees, the Bill for the Confirmation of Sir Geo. Howmes Letters Patents : The Amendments twice read, and ingrossed ; and the Bill, and Amendments, thirdly read; and, upon the Question, passed, with much Dispute.

The Complaint of the House first, and then the Lords Answer: - Because they came to it upon the sudden, they desired to proceed with the same Gravity : Because they could not advise of such Objections, as should be made against the Book, therefore desired, they might propound it to the House.
