that persons who have or shall lend money at the
Receipt should upon their receiving satisfaction
deliver back their tallies of loan to be cancelled so
as to secure the King and his successor against any
further demand thereon. Although such tallies
ought to have been delivered in and vacated from
time to time and very many directions have been
given to that purpose by the late Treasury Lords
and by myself in the particular warrants for repayments of loans "yet, as I am informed by the Clerk
of the Pells, the said tallies are left sometimes in one
place and sometimes in another and sometimes the
party never delivers them up to anybody, which may
prove of ill consequence." Therefore the Chamberlains of the Exchequer, the Auditor of the
Receipt, the Clerk of the Pells and all others concerned are forthwith to cancel all such tallies of loan
and the counter tallies or foyles thereof as have been
satisfied and delivered in: and for the future
particular care is to be taken to take in the tallies
and counter tallies for such loans and to cancel them
and to make endorsement upon the respective entries
thereof that the moneys due thereon are satisfied. |

[this alienation] obliged the Post Office to seek their
extraordinaries from the Exchequer; that several
years since Sir Thomas Deerham bought the said
place of Court Post which he holds by patent for
life and has been constantly paid quarterly by the
Receiver General [of the Post Office revenue] Sir
Allen Apsley, until the late King's decease; and
there is likewise allowed to the said Letter Carrier
the fee of 10s. a day extraordinary when the King
resides out of London, the bill [for said extraordinary] being [first] signed by a Secretary of State
"which last used to be included in the extraordinaries of the Post Office and paid by the Cashier
[thereof] so soon as [the bill was] received from the
Treasury"; but that the present King's accession has
made some change in the payments, the Post Office
not having any more recourse to the Treasury for
their extraordinaries and the Receiver General
ceasing to pay as formerly: therefore prays a dormant warrant for his said salary and extraordinary. |

of the Master and assistants of the Hospital in the New
Work near the borough of Leicester on behalf of the
poor people of said Hospital; praying that the
usual allowance of 230l. 1s. 7d. and 20 marks as a
fee or salary for the Master which was formerly
paid out of the fee farm rents of the Duchy of
Lancaster, may be continued for the support of said
Hospital, "the same (since the sale of the fee farm
