Essex Armorial.

The family arms given are those that occur in the four volumes of the Essex Inventory dating from before the year 1550. It is thought that the inclusion of this Essex "Armorial" will be of some interest to students, the blazon given in each case being the usual recognized form, though variations in some instances will be found under the individual monuments. The arms (before 1550) of certain well-known families not blazoned (although identified) in the Inventories are here added for the sake of completeness.
