(23 miles S.W. of Cirencester)

Leland (fn. 1) records the discovery in the fields of a Roman coin hoard contained in a pot, and, in the road near the church (ST 75217989), of a cremation in a glass vessel, possibly Romano-British. Roman coins were found by St. Clair Baddeley; (fn. 2) a coin of Valens and one of Valentinian I are in Gloucester City Museum.
