Lutenist of the Chapel Royal 1707–1837
The lutenist of the chapel royal was appointed by warrant of the dean to the sub dean. He was established at £41 10s in 1707. (fn. 1)
Violist of the Chapel Royal 1712–1837
The violist of the chapel royal was appointed by warrant of the dean to the sub dean. He was awarded £40 per annum in 1712; this was raised to £41 10s in 1727; and lowered to £32 by 1825. (fn. 2)
