LIST OF MAPS AND PLANS

All the maps and the Swindon street plan were drawn by K. J. Wass of the Department of Geography, University College, London, from drafts prepared by Elizabeth Crittall, Janet H. Stevenson, and K. H. Rogers. They are based upon the Ordnance Survey with the sanction of the Controller of H.M. Stationery Office, Crown Copyright reserved. Parish boundaries on the hundred map and maps of c. 1773 are taken from the tithe maps of c. 1840. Thanks are due to Mr. R. E. Sandell, Miss Winifred M. Evans, and Mr. K. H. Rogers for help with the preparation of the hundred map.
