Grant by Richard son of William son of Alvred, to the monks of St. Pancras, [Lewes], in frank almoin, of a hide of land in Sidenore, which Roger de Bruston, the grantor's man, had given to the said monks, with exemption from service except Danegeld. Grant by Edelyna Merss, to the monks of St. Paucras Lewes, of a messuage in the Westport, for the maintenance of one was candle before the cross in their great church, for which Godfrey de Tonebregge, the warden of the said candle (custos predicti cerei), has given her half a mark. Agreement between Geoffrey Mangifer, son and heir of Joceus Mangifer, and the prior and convent of Lewes, concerning a ren from a tenement in Lewes called 'Le Flay,' and from tenements in South novere, and from a meadow in the latter place, the former paying one marl for arrears; if Geoffrey fails in duly paying the said rent half a mark is to be levied from his goods as an aid for the Holy Land.
