Grant by John Greyby, Master of the House or Hospital of the Holy Trinity, or St. David, by Kyngesthorp, and the brethren of the same, to William Preston, chaplain, of a house called 'the Parlour' within the said hospital, with two rooms above the said parlour, a kitchen by the hall steps, and a garden, with admission into the brotherhood of the said hospital; also of an annuity of seven marcs for his assistance in celebrating mass. Grant by Thomas Montgomery, knight, John Cheyne, knight, John Clopton, Thomas Peyton, William Grene, and Thomas Higham, esquires, and William Foorde, of Colchester, at the request of William Fynderne, knight, son and heir of Thomas Fynderne, knight, to Thomas bishop of Lincoln, Chancellor of England, Robert Hawbburgh, and John Thornour, clerks, Richard Heigham and Clement Clerk, of a yearly rent of 10 marcs issuing out of the manor of Roos. The deed recites that Katherine Fynderne, late the wife of the said Thomas Fynderne, daughter and heiress of Nicholas Berners, esquire, held the said manor by the feoffment of John Grene, of Essex, gentleman, and others (named), for life, with remainder to the grantors, and John Say, Thomas Tyrell, William Tyrell, of Beche, knights, and Lewis John, esquire, deceased, and had surrendered the same and released her right therein to the grantors, and that the grantors were then seised of the premises to the use of the said William Fynderne. 12 May, 19 Edward IV.
