PRAYERS.

Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk.

RESOLVED, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of Theophilus Vaughan Esquire, to be one of the Deputy Lieutenants of the County of Suffolk.

Money seized.

The humble Petition of Wm. Ros, who had above Eleven hundred Pounds seized from him, which he was transporting, in Specie, into Scotland, was this Day read:

And it is Ordered, That it be referred unto Sir Wm. Armyn, Mr. Cage, Sir H. Mildmay, Mr. Holland, Mr. Ellis, Sir H. Anderson, Mr. Bond, Mr. Wheler, Mr. Maynard: And they are to call the Searchers before them, and to confer with them about it: And, upon the hearing of them, and upon Consideration of all the Circumstances of the Business, they are to report their Opinions to this House.

Customers Accounts.

Ordered, That, on Thursday Morning next, Alderman Hoyle do make his Report, concerning the Accounts of the old Customers.

Message to Lords.

Sir H. Vane is appointed to carry up the Ordinances concerning the Commissioners of the Customs.

He likewise carried up the Name of Mr. Vaughan, to be Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Suffolk:- the Committees Names for the County of Stafford.

Sir Christ. Yelverton was sent after him, to require him to put the Lords in mind of nominating Committees to be sent into Scotland.

Stafford Committees.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of Colonel Haughton, Lieutenant Colonel Sanders, Mr. Manwaring of Whittmore, Mr. Lee, Mr. Stone, Mr. Barber, Captain Philip Jackson, Captain Daniel Watson, Mr. Tho. Daintry, Mr. Turton, Mr. Rick. Gravener, Mr. Jolly, Mr. Tho. Cooke, Mr. Jo. Smethfield, to be added to the Committees for the County of Stafford: And to have as full Power, to all Intents and Purposes, as any other of the Committees have, might, or ought to have.

Answer from Lords.

Sir H. Vane brings Answer, that the Lords do agree to the Two Orders carried up by him, concerning the Commissioners of the Customs; and to the Names of the Committees added to the Committees for Staffordshire; and to Mr. Vaughan to be Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Suffolk: And have nominated the Lord Grey of Werke, to be Commissioner to go into Scotland.

Commissioners to Scotland.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and appoint Sir Wm. Armyn, and Mr. Henry Darley, to be Commissioners to go into Scotland.

Ordered, That the Committee, formerly appointed, do prepare Instructions for these Commissioners and Committees.

Middlesex Committees.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of Mr. Jo. Browne, Clerk of the Parliament, to be added to the Committees for the County of Middlesex, to all Intents and Purposes.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Essex Committees.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of Mr. Topsfield, to be added to the Committees for the County of Essex, to all Intents and Purposes.

Courts at Oxford.

An Ordinance to prevent the Keeping of the Courts of Chancery, &c. at Oxon, was this Day read; and, by Vote, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Message to Lords.

Sir H. Mildmay carried up to the Lords, the Ordinance concerning the Term; and the Ordinance for the associating of Kent with the City of London, &c.

Reducing Newcastle, &c.

The Propositions for reducing of Newcastle, and supplying the City with Coals, was read; first altogether; and then, Proposition by Proposition; and every Proposition particularly voted: And the seventh Proposition being put to the Question;

The House was divided:

The Yeas went forth.

With the Yea were 26.

With the Noe 24.

The particular Propositions being voted, the whole was put to the Question; and, by Vote, upon the Question, assented unto; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Mr. Reynolds is appointed to carry it up.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Propositions for the reducing of Newcastle, to acquaint the City, that this House has passed the same; and to put Things into a way, whereby the Subscriptions may come in, and Officers, and other Persons, may be thought upon to be employed in this Service.

Lords agree to Ordinances

Sir H. Mildmay reports, that the Lords do agree to the Two Ordinances carried up by him.

Examining Browne.

Ordered, That Mr. Whittacre be added to the Committee appointed to examine * Browne.

Exchange of Prisoners.

Letters from the Earl of Essex, Lord General, and from the Earl of Forth, General of the King's Forces, were this Day read; concerning the Exchange of Prisoners.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords. upon these Letters, on Thursday Morning next: And that Mr. Pym, and Mr. Reynolds do manage this Conference.
