Lamplelgh and Lowther.
This Day Thomas Becroft was sworn at this Bar, to answer to such Matters as he knows concerning the Business between Lampleigh and Lowther, which is in Examination by the Committee.
Lady Campden's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of the Lady Viscountess Campden: It is Ordered, That the Lords that are of the Committee at Haberdashers Hall shall speedily give this House an Account of the Matter of Fact contained in the Petition; and no further Proceedings in the mean Time.
Lambe, a Pass.
Ordered, That Mr. Patrick Lambe shall have a Pass, to go to the King, either by Sea or Land, to Newcastle.
Hawes's Cause.
Upon reading the Petition of Ann Hawes Widow: It is Ordered, That a Copy of this Petition shall be shewed to Nic. Hawes, who shall return his Answer to this House; and then this House will take the Business in further Consideration.
Answer from the H. C.
Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath return with this Answer from the House of Commons:
That they have taken the Business concerning the Duke of York into Consideration: To all the rest, they will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Bristol Garrison Ordinance.
The Order for continuing the Ordinance for the Garrison of Bristoll, was read, and Agreed to, with an Alteration, wherein their Concurrence is to be desired.
Ordinance to send Forces to Ireland.
The Ordinance for sending some particular Forces into Ireland, was taken into Consideration, and Agreed to, with some Alterations and Amendments, wherein the Concurrence of the House of Commons is to be desired.
Ordinance to sell Delinquents Estates.
Next, the Ordinance for selling of Delinquents Estates, was read the First Time.
Ld. Dunsmore released from his Restraint;
Upon reading the Petition of Francis Lord Dunsmore; shewing, " (fn. 1) That, by their Lordships Order to the Gentleman Usher, he is taken into Custody, as having come out of the King's Garrisons, and have not made their (fn. 2) Addresses to this House: That he came out of Oxford, to his House in Surry, by the Pass of Sir Tho. Fairefax, and by the Articles of Agreement made at Oxford upon the Surrender thereof; where he hath been ever since, save that he came up to London but for One Day, and returned back again; but ever intended to make a speedy Return, and to address himself to this House: Therefore desires his Restraint may be taken off, his Error being neither wilfully nor out of any Neglect to this House:"
It is Ordered, That the Lord Dunsemore is released from his present Restraint touching this Business.
and Ld. Seymour.
Ordered, That the Lord Seymour shall be released from his present Imprisonment.
Ld. Abergavenny tenders himself.
The Speaker acquainted this House, "That the Lord of Abergavenny came and tendered himself, being but lately come out of the King's Quarters."
Charnocke, a Pass.
Ordered, That Mr. Thomas Charnocke shall have a Pass, to go into Holland, and back again.
Message to the H. C. about the following Particulars.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath:
1. To desire their Concurrence in the Alterations in the Ordinance for sending Forces into Ireland.
2. To desire Concurrence in the Alterations in the Order for Continuance of the Ordinance of Bristoll.
3. To deliver the Petition of Mr. Boyd; and seeing the Lord Inchequin hath acknowledged the Receipt of the Goods for the Use of the State, to desire that some Course may be taken for the Payment of the Money to Mr. Boyd.
4. To desire Concurrence in the Ordinance for Mr. Twist to be Minister of Alsford, in the County of (fn. 3) Wilts.
5. To desire Concurrence in the Ordinance for Mr. Pryun to be Minister of Westborne.
Petre and Ly. Lumley, about the Custody of Ly. Fermor.
Upon reading the Petition of Lucy Petre, Daughter of Dame Cornelia Fermor, Widow; and also the Petition of Eliz. Viscountess Lumley, concerning the Custody of the Lady Fermor:
It is Ordered, That this Day Month all Parties that are concerned in this Business shall be heard, by their Counsel, at this Bar; and that there shall be no other Proceedings in the mean Time concerning this Business.
Serle and Brown.
Upon reading the Petition of Colonel Serle, in Answer to the Petition of Francis Browne:
It is Ordered, That it is referred to these Lords following, to call the Parties on both Sides before them, and end the Differences between them by Consent if they can, or else to report to this House:
Any Two, to meet on Tuesday Morning next; at which Time all Parties are to attend.
