Prayers.

Eyre's Estate.

MR. Leving reports from the Committee to whom the Examination and Consideration of the Petition of Anthony Eyre, Esquire, praying Leave to bring in a Bill for the Sale of an Estate in the County of Chester, and settling an Estate in Lincolnshire, of as good Value, and more to the Convenience of his Family, to the same Uses, was referred, That they had examined and considered the Matters of the Petition accordingly; and found, That the Estate in Lincolnshire was, at least, equivalent to the Estate in Cheshire: And that they were of Opinion, and thought it reasonable to give Leave, That a Bill should be brought in, as was desired.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of the said Petition.

Reasons for Conference.

Ordered, That the Persons appointed Yesterday to prepare Reasons for a Conference with the Lords, do withdraw, and prepare the said Reasons: And that they, or any Five of them, do the same.

Davile's Estate.

Mr. Christie reported from the Committee to whom the Bill to enable Wm. Davile to sell some Lands, for Payment of Debts, was re-committed, That they had considered the Petition of Anth. Gathorne, and his Wife referred to them; and had made several Amendments to the Bill; and taken particular Care of the Petitioners; which Amendments they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards, delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Deerstealers.

Sir Robert Henly reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for the better Discovery of Deer-stealers, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards, delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Supply Bill; Land Tax.

Mr. Attorney General, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for the granting to their Majesties the Sum of One Million Six hundred fifty-one thousand Seven hundred and Two Pounds upon Land, towards the carrying on a vigorous War against France. And the same was received.

Ordered, That the Bill be read on Monday Morning next.

Royal Mines.

Sir Robert Cotton reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for explaining a Proviso touching Royal Mines, in the Statute made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, intituled, An Act for Repeal of the Statute of 5 Hen. IV. against multiplying Gold and Silver, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards, delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read.

And a Debate arising thereupon;

Ordered, That the Debate be adjourned until Wednesday Morning next.

Ordered, That the King's Counsel be then heard upon the said Bill.

Judges Commissions, &c.

Sir Walter Young, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for the ascertaining the Commissions and the Salaries of the Judges. And the same was received.

Recovery of Tythes.

Mr. Christie reported from the Committee to whom the Bill for the more easy and speedy Recovery of small Tythes, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and afterwards a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, with some other Amendments proposed and agreed unto, and made in the Chair, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Election Returns.

An ingrossed Bill, to prevent false and double Returns of Members to serve in Parliament, was read the Third time:

And the Question being put, That the Bill do pass;

The House divided.

So it passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to search and inspect the Journals of this House, What Punishments and Censures have been inflicted upon Persons who have made false and double Returns of Members to serve in Parliament; and to report the same to the House.

And it is referred to Sir Edward Seymour, Sir Christopher Musgrave, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Dolben, Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Harley, Mr. Christie, Mr. Gwyn, Sir Robert Rich, Sir Tho. Clarges, Serjeant Wogan, Sir Rob. Cotton, Sir Tho. Darcy, Mr. Mountague, Serjeant Blincowe, Sir Peter Collyton, Sir Jos. Williamson, Mr. Buscawen, Sir Jerv. Elwes, Sir Sam. Bernardiston, Mr. Beare, Mr. Faux, Sir Wm. Honywood, Mr. Etterick, Mr. Bertye, Sir Wm. Cooke, Mr. Pelham: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers; and to sit de die in diem.

Ceiling and Roof of the House.

Ordered, That the King's Surveyor of his Works, and chief Officers of the Works, do view the Ceiling and Roof of this House; and report the Condition thereof to this House on Tuesday Morning next: And that Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant for that Purpose.

Punishing Mutiny and Desertion.

Ordered, That the Bill for paying the Army, according to the Musters of effective Men, and for better paying of Quarters, and likewise for preventing of false Musters, and for punishing Mutineers and Deserters, be read the Second time upon Monday Morning next, at Ten a Clock.

St. Martin's in the Fields new Parish.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the making a new Parish in the Out Parts of the Parish of St. Martin's in the Fields; and for settling Two Schools, and other Charities, erected by Dr. Tenneson.

Punishment of Offenders.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to take away the Clergy from some Offenders, and to bring others to Punishment, be read a Second time on Monday Morning next.

Publick Accompts.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, proceeded in the further Consideration of the Observations delivered in by the Commissioners appointed for taking the publick Accompts.

Ordered, That a Bill be brought in to unite and annex the Duchy of Lancaster, and Revenues thereof to the Crown; and for the bringing those Revenues into the Exchequer.

And it is referred to Sir Tho. Clarges, Mr. Harly, Mr. Foley, Mr. Attorney General, Sir Sam. Bernardiston, Sir Christopher Musgrave, Sir Peter Collyton, Sir Benj. Newland, Mr. Christie, or any Three of them, to prepare and bring in the same.

Ordered, That the said Commissioners do lay before this House the Particulars by which they observe, That the Charge of the Civil List is increased by Pensions, and Allowances by Persons discharged of their Offices.

Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That the Salaries, Fees, and Perquisites of all Offices under the Crown, shall be applied to the Use of the War, except Five hundred Pounds, and to be allowed to such respective Officers (except the Salaries to the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, the Judges, Foreign Ministers, and to the Commission Officers serving in the Fleet and Army) for the said Offices.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Friday Morning next, at Ten a Clock, proceed in the further Consideration of the said Accompts; and the Observations delivered in by the Commissioners for taking the publick Accompts.

Supply Bill; Excise.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill for granting to their Majesties certain Impositions upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, for One Year, be read the Third time upon Monday Morning next.

Limington Election.

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee of Privileges and Elections do report the Matter touching the Election for the Borough of Limington in the County of Southampton, upon Tuesday Morning next.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
