Prayers.

Recovery of Tythes.

A BILL for the more easy and speedy Recovery of small Tythes, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed, upon the Debate of the House, unto Lord Digby, Mr. Christie, Mr. Gwyn, Sir Rob. Edon, Mr. Burdett, Mr. How, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Bennet, Mr. Harcourt, Mr. Blowfeild, Serjeant Wogan, Mr. Bickerstaffe, Mr. Harley, Mr. Buscawen, Sir Fra. Guybons, Mr. Carter, Sir Rob. Sawyer, Mr. Brereton, Sir Cha. Bloys, Sir Hen. Goodrick, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Biddolph, Sir S. Bernadiston, Mr. Sandford, Lord Falkland, Mr. How, Mr. Campion, Mr. Glemham, Mr. Dyott, Mr. Vincent, Mr. Papillion, Mr. Baile, Lord Cornbury, Mr. Bowyer: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Defaulters to Call of the House.

Then, according to the Order of the Day, the Names of such Members who made Default in appearing upon the Call of the House, the Fourth of November instant, and were not then excused, were called over.

And several of them appeared, and others were excused.

Ordered, That Nich. Glyn, Esquire, Henry Mannaton, Esquire, John Tanner, Esquire, Fran. Fullford, Esquire, Hugh Fortescue, Esquire, Sir John Mortain, Baronet, Henry Hening, Esquire, Henry Northleigh, Esquire, John Pollexfen, Esquire, John Michell, Esquire, Wm. Okeden, Esquire, Rob. Walpole, Esquire, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant attending this House, for their Nonattendance upon the Service of the House.

Then, according to the Order of the Day, the Copies of the several Orders that have been issued by the Commissioners of the Admiralty to Admiral Russell during the last Year's Expedition; and also the List of the Ships lost or damaged since the Year 1688; were read.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of the Admiralty do lay before this House such Inquiries and Examinations as have been made by the Admiralty touching Ships cast away, Ships taken, and Ships run aground.

State of the Nation.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the State of the Nation.

Intercepted Papers.

The House being acquainted, that Mr. Bridges, a Member of the House, could give an Account of an Information given him by a Captain of their Majesties Fleet, That Sir Ralph Delavall had lately taken a French Boat going for Ireland, with Papers of dangerous Consequence to the Government;

Ordered, That Mr. Bridges do name the Person that gave him such Information.

Whereupon he named the Lord Danby, a Member of the House of Peers,

Ordered, That Sir Ralph Delavall do attend this House To-morrow Morning: and bring with him all the Papers he lately took in a French Boat going for Ireland.

The House being acquainted, that the Lord Danby can give Information of the said Papers;

The Question was put, That a Committee be appointed to repair to the Lord Danby; and to desire his Lordship's Information in the Matter aforesaid:

The House divided.

The Yeas go forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Conference desired with Lords.

Resolved, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, upon an Information made to this House of Matters relating to the Safety of the Kingdom.

Ordered, That the Lord Colchester do go to the Lords, and desire the said Conference.

Examination of Lord Preston, &c.

Resolved, That an humble Address be presented to his Majesty, by such Members of this House as are of his Majesty's most honourable Privy Council, That he will be pleased to give Order, That the Confessions and Examinations of the Lord Preston and Mr. Crone, may be laid before this House.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine of the Clock.
