Prayers.

Amending Highways.

ORDERED, That Mr. Bull, Sir Edw. Seymor, Mr. Langton, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Dyet, Mr. Fuller, Mr. Jervoise, Mr. Thornhaugh, Mr. Pitt, Sir Tho. Travell, Mr. Bowyer, Mr. Cooke, Mr. England, Mr. Buscawen, Mr. Chetwyn, be added to the Committee to whom it is referred to consider of the former Laws for Enlarging and Amending of the Highways; and to consider of their Defects; and to bring in a Bill for the better Enlarging and Amending of Highways, as well in Towns as Counties. And it is to be an Instruction to the said Committee, That they prepare and bring in a Clause to impower the Justices of Peace at the Quarter Sessions, to settle the Rates of Waggoners and Carriers.

Recovery of Tythes.

Mr. Christie presented to the House, according to Order, a Bill for the more speedy and easy Recovery of small Tythes. And the same was received.

The said Bill was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Woolen Manufacture.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the better Improvement of the Woolen Manufacture.

Beckman's &c. Nat.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke, and Mr. Keck;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for the Naturalizing Sir Martyn Beckman, Knight, and others: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Tryals for Treason.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for Regulating of Tryals, in Cases of Treason.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Tho. Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Sir Tho. Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had gone through the Bill, and made several Amendments thereunto: Which they had directed him to report to the House.

Ordered, That the said Report of the Bill and Amendments be made upon Friday Morning next, at Ten a Clock.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine of the Clock.
