Fines and Recoveries.

SIR John Trevor reports from the Committee to which the Bill for better Assurance of such as claim under ancient Fines and Recoveries, was committed, several Amendments, agreed by the said Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were again twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendements agreed to, be ingrossed.

Westminster Court of Conscience.

Ordered, That Sir Edmond Windham the Knight Marshal, a Member of this House, be heard by his Counsel, at the Bar of this House, as to the Matter of the Bill depending in this House, for erecting a Court of Conscience in the City and Liberties of Westminster; and his Interest as Knight Marshal.

Standish's Estate.

Sir Thomas Stringer reports from the Committee to which the Bill to enable Mr. Standish and his Trustees to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, and for raising a Portion for his Daughter, was committed, several Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were again twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Quinborough Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ, for the Election of a Member to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Quinborough in the County of Kent, in the room of James Herbert Esquire, deceased.

Privilege- Stopping a Member's Coach.

The House being informed, that Edward Clarke, a Constable of the Parish of St. Martin's in the Fields, Thomas Tompkins, John Clavile, Samuell Ridley, and Thomas Taylor, did riotously and scandalously stop the Coach and Horses, and beat and misuse the Coachman of Sir Robert Carr, a Member of this House, without any colour or pretence for the doing thereof, in Breach of the Privilege of this House; and that they do obstinately persist in Justification of such their Proceedings;

Ordered, That the said Edward Clarke, Thomas Tompkins, John Clavile, Samuell Ridley, and Thomas Taylor, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for their Breach of Privilege, in riotously and scandalously stopping the Coach and Horses, and beating and misusing the Coachman, of Sir Robert Carr, a Member of this House.

Augmenting Vicarages, &c.

Lords desire Conference.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable the Right Honourable Thomas Lord Morley and Mounteagle, Baron of Rye, to make Sale of the Manor of Farleton, and certain Lands and Hereditaments in Farleton in the County of Lancaster, for Payment of Debts: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House: And have commanded us to acquaint you, That they have agreed to the Amendments and Provisoes, sent up from this House, to the Bill to revive and perpetuate Augmentations made by Ecclesiastical Persons to small Vicarages and Curacies: And that the Lords desire a Conference with this House, upon the Amendments and Proviso sent up with the Bill for naturalizing the Children of his Majesty's English Subjects born beyond the Seas in the Time of the late Troubles, this Morning at Eleven of the Clock in the Painted Chamber.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to the Conference desired.

And the Messengers being called in again, Mr. Speaker acquainted them, That the House had agreed to the Conference.

Bedell's Estate.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the Vesting of certain Manors and Lands of Edward Bedell, of Woodrising in the County of Norfolke, Esquire, in certain Trustees, to be sold for the Payment of his Debts; and for raising of Portions for Diana Bedell, Isabella Bedell, and Ann Bedell, Infants, Daughters of the said Edward Bedell, and for such other Children as shall hereafter be begotten by the said Edward Bedell, upon the Body of Isabella the said Edward Bedell his now Wife; was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Mr. Price, Mr. Crowch, Mr. Mountague, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Tho. Allen, Mr. Wright, Sir Edward Hungerford: Sir Lionell Walden, Sir John Hanmer, Mr. Mallett, Sir Anth. Irby, Dr. Arris, Sir John Cotton, Mr. Eyres, Sir Tho. Stringer, Sir Edward Masters, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Giles Hungerford, Mr. May, Sir John Knight, Mr. Sackvile, Sir John Mallett, Serjeant Seys, Sir John Covert, Mr. Chetwyn, Sir John Ernle, Mr. Weld, Sir Tho. Williams, and all the Members of this House, that serve for the several Counties of Norfolke, Huntington, Northampton, and Cambridge, and for the several Cities and Boroughs of the same Counties: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock in the Inner Court of Wards: And they are to examine the Matter of Fact; and summon and hear the Parties concerned: And are impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Popish Recusants.

Whereas a Bill came down from the House of Lords, intituled, An Act for the more effectual Conviction and Prosecution of Popish Recusants;

Upon the reading the said Bill; and opening the Substance thereof to the House; it appeared to be much different from the Title: And thereupon the House, Nemine contradicente, rejected the same.

Members to attend Conference.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Meres, Sir John Trevor, Sir Cha. Wheeler, Sir Hen. Ford, Col. Byrch, Mr. Sacheverell, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Geo. Downing, Mr. Powle, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Richard Temple, Sir Hen. Capell, Sir Tho. Lee, Sir Eliab Harvey, Sir John Birkenhead, Mr. Williams, do attend, and manage the Conference with the Lords, in the Painted Chamber, agreed to this Morning.

Preventing Popery.

An ingrossed Bill for suppressing the Growth of Popery, was read the Third time.

Resolved, upon the Question, Nemine contradicente, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for suppressing the Growth of Popery: And that Sir John Trevor do carry up the said Bill to the Lords for their Concurrence.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
