Prayers.

Leigh's Estate.

A BILL for enabling Thomas Leigh Esquire to sell Part of his Lands for Payment of his Debts, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read the Second time on Monday Morning next.

Money received for indigent Officers.

A Petition of the indigent loyal Commission Officers was read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Care of Mr. Milward to advise with some other Members of the Long Robe, and to expedite the Bill directed on the Behalf of the indigent loyal Officers.

Lords desire a Conference.

A Message from the Lords by Sir Justinian Lewen and Sir Mundeford Brampston;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords, desire a Conference with this House at Ten of the Clock this Morning, in the Painted Chamber, to the End that some Mistakes in the Amendment sent from the Lords to the Bill for taxing the Lands of the Adventures in the great Level of the Fens, may be rectified, according to the Intentions of both Houses: And have commanded us also to put you in mind of the Bill, sent from them, for regulating the Trials of Peers.

The Messengers being called in, Mr. Speaker acquaints them, that the House did agree to the Conference.

Ordered, That Mr. Vaughan, Mr. Millward, Serjeant Charlton, Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Crouch, do attend the Conference.

Illegal fining Jurors.

The Debate of the Matter concerning Fining and Imprisoning of Jurors, being this Day resumed in the House;

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to Mr. Vaughan, Mr. Buscawen, Mr. Swinfen, Sir Thom. Allen, Sir Jo. Birkenhead, Sir Job Charlton, Mr. Millward, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir Walter Young, Sir Robert Carr, Mr. Hambden, Sir Hugh Windham, Mr. Solicitor, Sir Thom. Lee, Mr. Pryn, Col. Millward, Mr. George Font, or any Five of them, to draw up the Case and Matter of Fact, both in relation to Grand Juries, and Petty Juries, and the Vote and Resolution of the House therein, against Monday Morning; to the end the Concurrence of the Lords may be desired thereto.

Ditto.

Ordered, That the Committee formerly appointed concerning Jurors be revived; and do take into Consideration the Matter of Miscarriage objected against Mr. Justice Tirrell, or any other Matter of like Nature; and report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And they are to sit To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Bedford Level.

Mr. Vaughan reports from the Conference had with the Lords, and opens the Mistakes in the entering of the Amendments to the Bill concerning Bedford Level: Which being amended at the Table;

Ordered, That the Bill be returned to the Lords.

Militia Laws.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to inspect the former Acts touching the Militia, and consider the Defects and Inconveniencies therein; and to bring in a Bill to redress them; viz. Committals to Provosts Marshals.

Whereas this House was now informed of several Persons that had been illegally committed to Provosts Marshals:

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to make Provision in the Bill to prevent Things of like Nature for the future.

Carr's Petition.

Ordered, That the Committee concerning the Lord Gerrard and Wm. Carr, be revived; and do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Supply.

Col. Birch reports from the Committee appointed to bring in a Clause to prevent the charging of Wine twice, a Clause agreed by the Committee: Which being twice read;

Resolved, &c. That the Clause brought in to prevent the charging of Wine twice, be referred to the Committee of the whole House for the King's Supply.

Resolved, &c. That the House do resolve into a Committee of the whole House To-morrow Morning Nine of the Clock, to take into further Consideration the King's Supply, and nothing to intervene.
