Prayers.

Gould's Accompts.

MR. Bond reports, from the Committee of Accompts of the whole Kingdom, the Accompt of Colonel Wm. Gould.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth allow of the Sum of Four thousand Four hundred and Forty-three Pounds Twelve Shillings and Four-pence, demanded upon the Accompt of Colonel Wm. Gould, deceased.

Ordered, That the Sum of Four thousand Four hundred and Forty-three Pounds Twelve Shillings and Fourpence be charged upon the Grand Excise, in Course; and be paid unto Nicholas Gould, Executor of the said Wm. Gould: And that Interest, after the Rate of Eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, payable every Six Months, be allowed, and paid unto the said Nicholas Gould, or his Assignee, for the Sum of Two thousand Pounds, Part of the said Four thousand Four hundred and Forty-three Pounds Twelve Shillings and Four-pence, until the said Two thousand Pounds be paid and satisfied.

Ordered, That an Ordinance be brought in to that Purpose.

Gould's Accompts.

An Ordinance for charging, upon the Receipts of the Grand Excise, in Course, the Sum of Four thousand Four hundred and Forty-three Pounds Twelve Shillings and Four-pence, appearing upon the Accompts of Colonel Wm. Gould, certified from the Committee of Accompts, and allowed this Day to be due unto him, with Interest for Two thousand Pounds, Part of the said Four thousand Four hundred and Forty-three Pounds Twelve Shillings and Four-pence, upon the Excise, payable every Six Months, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Mr. Nicoll is appointed to carry it to the Lords.

He is likewise appointed to carry to the Lords the Ordinance for Payment of the Horse Guards.

Parliament Guards.

Whereas the Ordinance for further securing the Sum of Five thousand Pounds, with so much more lent upon the Public Faith, for Supply of the Horse Guards, was mistaken, and made Five thousand Pounds, where it should have been Ten thousand Pounds: It is Ordered, upon the Question, that the same be amended, and made Ten thousand Pounds.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Eltonheade;

The Lords commanded us to return unto you these Votes concerning the Seven Persons to be excepted from Pardon: These moved from you; and the Lords have agreed unto them, with these Alterations:-To put you in mind to nominate a Committee, to join with a Committee of the Lords, to put his Majesty's Concestions into Bills; which they desire you to take into speedy Consideration:-This Ordinance for Mr. Saltmarsh; which the Lords have passed, upon this Petition, and Rental; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Answer.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That the House has considered of their Lordship's Message; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Loan by the City.

Ordered, That the Committee formerly employed upon providing the Monies desired to be borrowed of the City, for carrying on the Treaty, do forthwith repair to the City, upon that occasion.

Chief Baron of Exchequer

Mr. Serjeant Wilde, who is appointed, by both Houses of Parliament, Chief Baron of the Exchequer, did, in his Place, return to the House his humble and hearty Thanks, for the great Esteem they please to express towards him; which he will, by his faithful Performances, endeavour to continue and deserve.

And then he took his Leave of the House, with his earnest Prayers to Almighty God, to bless and prosper their Proceedings.

Resolved, &c. That the Thanks of this House be given to Mr. Serjeant Wilde, for his many faithful and great Services performed in this House as a Member thereof, and to the Parliament and Kingdom, upon all publick Occasions.

And Mr. Speaker accordingly did give him the Thanks of this House.

Army.

Mr. Scawen reports from the Committee employed to the General, to consider of disbanding Supernumeraries, reducing the Regiments to the former Establishment, and the taking off Free Quarter.

The Question being put, That there be an Addition of Three thousand Foot to the Establishment of the Army;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So that the Question passed with the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the House do, To-morrow Morning, the first Business, take into Consideration, How the Arrears of the Assessments for the Army may be brought in; to the end the Supernumeraries may be disbanded.

Answer from Lords.

Mr. Nicoll brings Answer, That the Lords do agree to the Two Ordinances carried by him; the one, concerning the House Guards; the other, for Payment of the Arrears to Colonel William Gould.

Treaty with the King.

Ordered, That the Committee Yesterday appointed to prepare an Answer to the King's First Proposition, be injoined to meet this Afternoon: And the Care of this Business is more particularly referred to Mr. Swynfen.

Jersey Exiles.

Ordered, That, on Friday Morning next peremptorily, the first Business, the Ordinance concerning the Exiles of Jersey be reported.

Lords desire a Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page;

The Lords desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, presently in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning the Votes they received from this House, touching the Seven Persons to be banished.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to a present Conference, as is desired.

Mr. Annesley, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Wheler, are appointed Reporters of this Conference.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to a present Conference, as is desired.
