PRAYERS.

Assessment of Norwich, by Consistory Court.

THE Petition of the City of Norwich is referred to the Committee for the Bishop of Ely, with an Enlargement of the Power of that Committee, to consider of the Legality of the Decree made in the Consistory Court of the Diocese of Norwich, and in Chancery, for the Assessing of the Twenty Pence in the Pound upon the House, in the City of Norwich; and to examine by whom it was procured, and whether the Inhabitants be bound by that Decree.

Fowles' Petition.

Sir David Fowles, and Mr. H. Fowles, who this Day exhibited their Petitions to this House, were called in; and did avow their Petitions: And then their Petitions were referred to the Committee that Mr. Mauleurer's is referred unto: And That Committee has Power to receive all Petitions of the like Nature.

Upon this Report it was Resolved, upon the Question, that Doctor Potter, Vicechancellor of Oxon, be forthwith sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House:

That Mr. Edw. Fulham, Chaplain to the Bishop of Oxon, be forthwith sent for, as a Delinquent, by the Serjeant at Arms attending on this House:

Wilkinson restored to Lectureship.

That Mr. Henry Wilkinson, who was suspended wrongfully by the Vicechancellor, from preaching within the University, from a Divinity Lecture he had in Magdalenhall, be as publickly restored to his Lecture again, as he was suspended: And that his Sermon may be printed, if he please.

Court of York, and Court of Marches.

Mr. Treasurer, Mr. Whistler, Mr. Duns, Sir Martin Lister, Mr. Whittlock, Sir Arthur Ingram, Mr. Sneade, Sir Rich. Winne, Mr. Shuttleworth, Sir Edw. Hungerford, Sir Ro. Pye, Mr. Ashton, Mr. Hide, Sir Rich. Lewson, Sir H. Herbert, the Knights and Burgesses for the Counties of Yorke, Northumberland, Cumberland, Westmorland, the Burgesses of Barwick and Newcastle, the Knights and Burgesses of the Thirteen Counties of the Principality of Wales, and the Knights and Burgesses of the Four Shires, the Marches of Wales, and all the Lawyers of the House;

This Committee is to consider of the Jurisdiction of the Court of Yorke, and of the Court of the Council of the Marches; and to consider how far the Thirteen Shires of Wales are subject to the Jurisdiction of that Court; and to examine and consider of the original Foundation and Institution of these Courts, and their several Instructions for their Proceedings therein; and have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Books, Records, or any thing else, that may concern or conduce to the Business; and are to report their Opinions to the House; and are to meet on Thursday come Sevennight, at Two of Clock, in the Court of Wards.

Stannary Court.

The whole Business concerning the original Foundations, Institution, and Jurisdiction of the Stannary Court of Devon and Cornewall, and the Examination of the Misdemeanors committed by the Officers, or others, in the Proceedings of that Court, are referred to the Committee for Mr. Coryton's Business: And the Knights and Burgesses of Devon and Cornewall, Mr. Serjeant Hide, Mr. Nicholls, Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Hollys, and Mr. Hill, are added to this Committee; and they are to meet on Thursday come Sevennight, at Two of Clock, in the Court of Wards.

Army Supply.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Twenty thousand Pounds, now to be sent down for the Relief of the King's Army, be thus disposed of; Three thousand Pounds to the Garison of Barwick; One thousand Pounds to the Garison of Carlell; and Sixteen thousand Pounds to the Army.

Recusants in the Army.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Words "justly "suspected" in the Order of this House, concerning Recusants, that have any Office in the Army, shall be explained, by administring the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy to such as are so suspected.

Subsidies.

Ordered, That the House be resolved into a Committee, to take into Consideration the Bill of Subsidies; and to debate the Enlarging of the Two Subsidies to a greater Sum.

Earl of Winchelsea's Estate.

Mr. Serjeant Ayloffe and Mr. Serjeant Whittfield bring from the Lords a Bill, intituled, An Act for Enabling of the Sale and Leasing of Lands, for Payment of the Debts of Thomas late Earl of Winchelsea.-

Subsidies.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair again; and Mr. Whistler assumed it.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Two Subsidies more shall be added to those Subsidies already agreed upon; to be employed to the same Uses already ordered, or to such Uses as this House shall appoint:

That the Two first Subsidies shall be paid by the Tenth of February next.

That the Two last Subsidies shall be paid by the Tenth of May next.

Ordered, That the Bill of Subsidies be recommitted to the same Committee, to be perfected according to the Directions now settled; and to present it to the House To-morrow Morning: And for this Purpose they are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer-court.

King's Revenue, &c.

Ordered, That upon the Debate of his Majesty's Revenue and Expences, appointed to be upon Tuesday next, the House shall take into Consideration the Necessity of the King's Navy in the first Place.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Business concerning the Letters of Administration, gotten by Sir Edward Savage against Mr. Cambell, a Member of this House, be referred to the Committee for Privileges: And the Committee, by Order of this House, is to sit this Afternoon, purposely for this Business: And Mr. Cambell is to take some Course, that Sir Edward Savage have Notice hereof.

Leave of Absence.

Sir Jo. Lee has Leave to go into the Country, to see his Father now a dying.

Collection at the Communion.

Sir Robert Harley reports from the Committee, appointed to receive and dispose of the Monies collected at the Communion, and since, being Fourscore .. Four Pounds Sixteen Shillings and Two-pence; which the Committee presents to the House to be thus disposed on, if it may stand with the Pleasure of this Honourable House; viz.

1. To defray the Charges of the Church, Four Pounds Fifteen Shillings and Six-pence.

2. To the Ministers that did Officiate, Ten Pounds.

3. To the Four Preachers, Dr. Burgesse, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Gawden, and Mr. Morley, to be bestowed on them in Plate, Twenty-six Pounds Thirteen Shillings and Four-pence.

4. To an aged poor Scholar, recommended by a Member of the House, One Pound Ten Shillings.

5. To the poor of Westminster, Hospitals and Prisons included, Forty-one Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Four-pence.
