WILTS.	Assignment of dower to Agnes, late the wife of Nicholas Burdoun. (Undated memorandum.)
	By one writ the escheator assigned to her all the lands &c. in Paulesholt and Iatesbur’, which came into the king’s hand by the death of the said Nicholas, she paying 12s. 3d. yearly to the two parts remaining in the king’s hand by the minority of the heir. By another writ (Calendar of Close Rolls, 1302–1307, p. 122) he was ordered to assign dower out of the lands &c. in his custody by the minority of the heir to the value of a third part of 4l. 17s. yearly, which dower Agnes recovered in the king’s court against the heir by his warranty to Reynold de Pavely and Walter, his son, of a third part of a messuage and a carucate of land in Bosinton, co. Hants; by virtue of which mandate the escheator on 16 March, 32 Edward I, assigned to her lands (extent given) in Iatesbury, which fell into the king’s hand after the death of Nicholas by the death of Isabel Pipard, who held them in dower of the inheritance of the same Nicholas with other lands still in the king’s hand. The following field and place names in Iatesbury occur:—Deneforlong, Wowelond, Denelond, Twenty Acre, Langgeforlong, Berouforlong, Stanforlong, Comptoneweye, Viseweye, Bottes, Chakhulle; and the following names of persons:—Robert Brodrib, Gilbert Tropinel and Agnes de Hibern’.
