8. Receiver's Account 1489–1490

The roll is damaged at the head, but is apparently complete. It consists of seven sheets 28cm wide. The first (badly damaged) sheet is about 31 cm long and the seventh sheet 24 cm long. The remaining sheets measure 37–38 cm.

To Thomas, prior of Holy Trinity, London, collector of the second half of a subsidy granted to the King in the last convocation of prelates and clergy for the prebend of Willesden, as shown by an acquittance made on 5 October 1489, 8s.
To the collector of the King by the hand of William Swete, farmer of the grace of Willesden, by an acquittance, 4s.
To the abbot of Abingdon before 1 November, collector of the second half of a subsidy granted to the King in the last convocation of prelates and clerics, for the church of Lambourn, by an acquittance, £5 6s. 8d.
To the lord of Edmonton for release of a suit of court and for money called Peter's Pence, as shown in Roger's book, 16d.
Grant by the Dean to five farmers (6s. 8d. each, as in the preceding account) on the taking of their farms, viz. to the collector of rents of Belchamp St. Paul, to the farmer of the rectory there, and to the farmers of Wickham St. Paul, Drayton, and Willesden, £1 13s. 4d.
To a certain smith for shoeing horses of the Dean, by a tally and at the recognisance of Thomas Morys, the keeper of the horses, before the auditor at the time of the audit of this account, 8s. 6d.
To William Wyle, hosier of London, for three pairs of shoes, (12d.) and for four pairs of socks (8d.), and three pointed doss (6d.), bought for the apparel of the Dean, as shown in a bill of particulars, 8s. 2d.
To Richard Milen, saddler of London, for mending saddles and other things and stuffs, as shown in another bill, 6s. 11d.
To the wife of Thomas Shaa for her work in washing linen sheets and other things for the Dean, as shown by a tally, 14s. 7d.
Gifts on order of the Dean to various mimes and minstrels of the King and other lords and to other persons bringing gifts, as shown in half a folio of Roger's book of payments, £1 8s. 8d.
On the order of the Dean the price of 3 qr. of woollen cloth bought to make a hood for John Slade, chaplain, 2s. 3d. (fn. 4)

Paid to the Dean at Hackney on 17 July 1490, by the recognisance of the Dean, before the auditor, without bill.
