He held no lands or tenements in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief in Suffolk and Norfolk on the day he died.
He died on 5 February, 3 Edward III.

He was not seised of any lands or tenements in his demesne as of fee in the county on the day he died.
John, son of Alphonsus (Aunfos’) de Ver, aged 17 years and more, is his next heir.
ESSEX. Inq. taken at Brentwood (Boscum Ars’), 4 August, 3 Edward III.
Duddingherst. The manor held for life of the gift of Robert de Veer, earl of Oxford, his father.
Dounham. The manor held without any deduction (retenumento) at the will of the said earl.
The said Thomas, long before his death, re-enfeoffed the said earl of the aforesaid manors. He held nothing in the county in his demesne as of fee or otherwise.
John, son and heir of Alphonsus (Amfus’) de Veer, aged 16 years, is the next heir of the blood of the aforesaid Thomas.

Gotham and Keworthe. Six marks rent from free tenants, held of Henry de Lancaster, earl of Leicester, by knight’s service. He held no lands or tenements &c. of the king in the county.

NORTHAMPTON. Inq. 19 February, 4 Edward III.
Esthaddon. A messuage, 2 carucates of land, and 20s. rent, and a third part of a pasture called ‘le Hoxehai,’ held by the said Richard and Alice his wife jointly enfeoffed, to themselves and the heirs of the said Richard by the said Alice, by a fine levied in the king’s court in 33 Edward I, of the earl of Lancaster, by knight’s service; and 9l. 15s. 9d. rent similarly held, by the grant of Roger de Sancto Andrea, father of the said Richard, of the aforesaid earl by knight’s service. The pleas and perquisites of court are worth 6s. 8d. yearly.

Compton Durville. Seven shillings yearly rent, held of the king in chief, rendering 6d. yearly at Michaelmas, by the hands of the sheriff, as of a certain escheat which is in the king’s hand through the felony of Eustace Durville.
Mountagu. Four shillings rent, held of the prior of Montacute in chief, by yearly service of one suit at the said prior’s court.
Ilemenstre. Twenty shillings yearly rent, held of Thomas de Courtenay, by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee.
Wythele. A messuage and 4 bovates of land held of Joan late the wife of Matthew de Esshe, and Humfrey son of Humfrey de Kayl, in chief, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee.

The manor (extent given), held of the king in chief, by service of rendering yearly at his exchequer in Carlisle 13s. 4d. for cornage; which manor Thomas de Multon of Gillesland gave to Thomas his son, deceased, and to the aforesaid Isabel, and to the heirs of their bodies; and the said Isabel died so seised of the said manor.
Margaret, daughter of Thomas de Multon, son of the aforesaid Thomas son of Thomas and Isabel, aged 26 years and more, whom Ranulph de Dacre married, is next heir in tail of the aforesaid Thomas son of Thomas and Isabel.

NOTTINGHAM. Inq. Sunday the morrow of the Epiphany, 3 Edward III.
Kyngeshagh. The manor (extent given), acquired by John de Castre together with the said Isabel of Walter de Gloucester to hold to them and the heirs of the said John, held of the king in chief, as of the crown, service unknown. She held no lands or tenements in fee in the county on the day she died.

YORK; EAST RIDING. Inq. Thursday after St. James the Apostle, 3 Edward III.
North Gevildale. A messuage and 4 bovates of land (extent given), held in dower, of the inheritance of the heir of the said Richard who is under age and in the king’s wardship, of the king in chief, by service of a twentieth part of a grand serjeanty, the whole of which serjeanty is held of the king in chief, by service of finding a crossbowman in the castle of York, at his own charges, for forty days, if there shall be war in the county of York. She held no other lands or tenements for the term of her life, of the said inheritance.
Ralph, son of Walter le Albalster, aged 5 years and more, is next heir of the said Richard.

Little Thorrok. Land and rents (extent given), held of the king in chief, by serjeanty, viz.—by being keeper of the napery (naparius) in the king’s household, and by service of 10s. to be paid yearly, in the king’s exchequer, and 2s. yearly at the hundred of Berdestaple into the hands of the earl of Kent, which is called ‘wardsilver.’
West Thorrok. A capital messuage, lands and rent (extent given), held in socage of the heir of John de Breaunson, who is under age and in the king’s wardship, by service of 27s. 7 1/2d. yearly.

204. ROBERT DE MUCHELDEVRE.
Writ of amotus, 26 February, 3 Edward III.
WILTS. Inq. taken at New Salisbury, 1 April, 3 Edward III.
He held no lands or tenements in fee &c. in the county. But while he was with Hugh le Despenser, the younger, after the banishment lately deoreed against the said Hugh in the parliament of King Edward II, by the maintenance and power of the said Hugh and by his oppression, the said Robert violently ejected Henry Burry from a messuage, 3 virgates of land, 8a. meadow, and 17s. rent in Laverkestoke; whereof there are held of the king in chief, a messuage and 1 virgate of land, by service of finding a foot forester for keeping the king’s forest of Claryndon, and 2 virgates of land, the meadow, and rent, are held of Margaret de Wodefold, by service of 50s. 8d. yearly. For the aforesaid Henry Burry was of the faction (querela) of Thomas, late earl of Lancaster, for prosecuting the aforesaid Hugh le Despenser; and so the said Robert entered upon the said lands &c. and retained them until the sheriff of Wilts, restored the said Henry by the king’s writ, to hold them as before, as was ordained and agreed in the parliament at the king’s coronation. The said Robert, in like circumstances, ejected John de Farlegh from a message and 107a. land in Putton and Farlegh, which are held of Thomas Cosyn by service of 7s. 2d. yearly; to which the said sheriff similarly restored the said John. The said Robert also, in like circumstances, ejected Thomas Cosyn from a messuage, 90a. land, 1a. meadow, and 20a. wood in Putton, which are held of the abbess of St. Mary’s, Winchester, by service of 100s. yearly; to which the said sheriff similarly restored the said Thomas. The said Robert also, in like circumstances, ejected John de Lucy of Farlegh from 40a. wood in Farlegh, which are held of John de Wynterbourne, by service of 1/2lb. of pepper; to which the said sheriff similarly restored the said John de Lucy.
If the said Robert de Mucheldevere held any other lands or tenements in fee in other counties than Wilts, then John, son of the said Robert and Alice his wife, aged 15 years, is his next heir.

The said Henry in his life time alienated all his lands and tenements to Walter de Kent and Peter de Botrigan and their heirs for ever.

William de Campo Arnulphi, aged 18 years, is the next heir of the blood of the said Henry, who in his lifetime, when he was of competent and sane memory, demised to Walter de Kent, parson of the church of Cardian, and Peter de Bodrigan, all his lands and tenements which he had by a fine (recited) levied in the king’s court at York in the octave of Holy Trinity, 2 Edward III, touching the manors of Ilfrydecombe, Colrygge, and la Hevede, a messuage and a carucate of land in la Pole, and the advowsons of the churches of Ilfryd[ecombe] and Stokelegh, co. Devon, and the manor of Trevelowen and the advowson of the church of Jacobistowe, co. Cornwall; whereby the said Walter and Peter granted and restored the aforesaid manors, tenements and advowsons to the said Henry to hold as follows:—the said manor of Trevelowen of the king and his heirs, as of the honour of Tremeton, and all the other manors, tenements and advowsons, of the chief lords of that fee, by the services pertaining to them, for the lifetime of the said Henry, with remainder to William his son, and to the heirs of his body, and further remainder to the right heirs of the said William; and, for this grant, the said Henry gave to the said Walter and Peter 100 marks.

William de la Plaunche, her son, is her next heir and of full age, to whom the said manor ought to remain, but nothing descends to him of inheritance by her death.
Hardmed. Certain tenements, held for her life, of the inheritance of John son of John de Olneye, of the heirs of Richard de Wyndlesor, by service of two parts of a knight’s fee, and one mark yearly.

Whiterouchingge (sic). The manor (extent given), including a custom called ‘maltsilver,’ held for her life, of the inheritance of Beatrice, daughter and heir of Philip de Hastang’, deceased, whom Thomas de Lungeville married, of the king in chief by service of keeping two of the king’s falcons at the king’s charges. The aforesaid tenements are held of Ralph de la Chekiere, lord of Adyngton by Mallynge, by service of rendering yearly half a mark, and doing suit at the said Ralph’s court at Adyngton every three weeks; which Ralph defends those tenements against the king, as of the honour of the castle of Rochester; and they are charged yearly in five marks, to be paid to a certain heir who is under age and in the king’s wardship; which (marks) the king’s escheator received from the said Richard de Gloucestre, whilst he lived. There was sometime a partition between two sisters, names unknown, of a certain inheritance, and because the pourparty of that sister to whom all the aforesaid tenements remained exceeded the value of the pourparty of the other sister by five marks yearly, the said tenements remained charged with the said five marks yearly; and so by reason of the minority of the heir of that other sister, name likewise unknown, the said rent still remains in the king’s hand.
