Entry W, a tailor, was accused of one year's practice. He said he gave no medicine, but cured ague by 'reading in a booke' and taking nail parings which he used to the 'help and good' of his patients. Buck, a scullion of the Lord Mayor, whom he cured for 1s. by nail parings, accused W. 'It is granted to be charming but whether it be physicke yt is doubted and they will take counsell upon it.'
