Entry	'On 2 May the wife of William Maier a tinsmith living in the Barbican made a complaint about James Alcocke the surgeon saying that because of a potion he gave her she had felt far worse. The same James Alcocke was accused by Thomas Jones, a servant employed by Mr. Carpenter of St. Maryhill, of evil practices and that he received from him 30s. as a present.'
