Abstract
Williams, a doctor of physic, complained that he was jostled in the street and threatened to be kicked by Craddock who would have assaulted him if John Shelbury had not interposed himself. Williams petitioned the Earl Marshal for satisfaction, but no further proceedings survive.

'As he was going in the streetes about his business, he was justled and, in manner of assaulte, threatned to be kickt by one Mr Craddock of Graies Inn. And had not one John Shelbury, being present, interposed himselfe, your petitioner had bin assaulted in the streetes, which he being willing to avoyd went quietly away and soe declined his malitious intent (as by affidavit annexed appears).
Yet your petitioner craves satisfaction for the wrong offered him, for feare of a worse consequence, according as your Lordship shall thinke fitt.'
