491 OFFICERS OF ARMS V YELVERTON
Officers of Arms v Sir Christopher Yelverton, of Easton Maudit, co. Northampton, knt
November 1636 - February 1637
Abstract
This was a cause of office promoted by the Officers of Arms against Yelverton for speaking derogatorily of the Earl Marshal and his court, and for not paying the fees due to the heralds on the funeral of his father who died on 24 January 1630 and was buried at Easton Maudit, Northamptonshire. This was one of a series of cases over funeral fees, most of which were brought in November 1636. The case had been settled by February 1637 when it was referred to by Sir Roger Twysden's account of the similar action that he faced [see cause 489].
