Sir Francis Molineux, of Teversal, co. Nottingham, bart v John Monday of Kirkby, co. Nottingham, gent

Abstract
Molyneux complained that in November 1640 Monday said to him, 'Sir Francis Mollineux you are a base fellowe and the next time I meete yow I will beate you', thereby provoking him to duel. Process was granted on 10 December 1640, and bond was entered to prosecute the case on the 14th ; but this was after the final sitting of the court.

In November 1640, 'John Monday of the parish of Kirkby in the county of Nottingham, gentleman, sayd to your peticoner these wordes in a very disgracefull manner, vizt. Sir Francis Mollineux you are a base fellowe and the next time I meete yow I will beate you, therby verie much provoakinge your peticoner to duell.'
Petitioned that Monday be brought to answer.
Maltravers granted process, 10 December 1640.

Sir Francis Molineux of Teversall, co. Nottingham, bart (c.1601-74), was the son of Sir John Molineux of Hawton, co. Nottingham, bart, and Isabell, daughter of Sir Anthony Markham of co. Lincoln. Sir Francis was high sheriff in 1648, and he married Theodosia, daughter to Sir Edward Heron of co. Lincoln.
