Abstract

Fullsis complained that Burras had given him ill language, which Burras admitted that he had done under provocation. Burras petitioned the Earl Marshal to spare him the expense of attendance by either assigning a day for the hearing or appointing arbiters, suggesting Sir Edward Raleigh, Mr Edward Bentley and Mr John Davers. No further proceedings survive.

'Your petitioner, being provoked by one Mr Edward Fullsis, by telling your petitioner of divers things which were not true, did give him some ill language for which he is verie sorrie. And beinge summoned by a pursevant to answer the business before your lordship hath here attended ever since Satturday last was seavenight, being att continuall charges and having allreadie coste him xli.

It may therefore please your lordship either to appoint a day for the hearing of both parties before your lordship, or else to referr it to some indifferent men in the country which shall seeme best to your lordship. And he as in all duty bound shall ever pray andc.
