Abstract
Freeman cited Dudley to appear in court to answer for his scandalous words on 4 May 1636. There were further proceedings in January and February 1637, but no indication of the sentence survives.

Dudley was summoned to appear in proceedings before the earl of Arundel and Lord Maltravers in January and February 1637.

Edward Dudley was the eldest son and heir of Thomas Dudley of Harrold, co. Bedford, gent, and Margaret, daughter of Robert Wood of Lambley, co. Nottingham. Edward was aged about 24 in 1634 and married Elizabeth, daughter of George Edwards of Emberton, co. Buckingham.
