Proceedings survive from February 1637, but they do not show either the cause or result of FitzJames's complaint against Mallet.

Dr Duck acted as counsel. There were proceedings on 11 and 16 February 1637.

Thomas Fitz-James may have been a relative of Sir John Fitz-James of Leweston, co. Dorset, knt (d.1606).

Alley Mallett, aged 20 in 1623 was the son of Gawen Mallett and the daughter of Henry Alley. He married the sister of John Blewet of Holcombe.
