David Delacke and Edward Steelecrage Churchwardens of the p'ishe of Sct Martine in the feild in the Countie of Midd' Chosen and appointed by the whole assent and consent of the mrs of the same p'ishe for the space of two whole yeares comensing at the feast of the beirth of or Lorde god one Thowsand ffive hunderith ffoure scoore and three. and endinge at ye like feast in the yeare of or Lord god one Thowsand ffive hunderid ffoure scoore and ffive. and in the Eight and Twentith yeare of the Raign of or sou'aign Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of god of England ffraunce and Ireland Queene Defendor of the faith &c'. March, 27 Eliz: True Bill that at St. Martin's on the night of that day John Deepinge, alias Oliver Tayler of London broke into the Church and stole eight bombards called calyvers worth four pounds, a buff jerkyn worth 10/-, 2 swords and 2 daggers worth 20/-, and a piece of iron and steel called a head piece worth 2/-, three instruments called "flashes and tucheboxes" worth 2/-, A little earlier Deepinge had broken into the house of Christopher Hayward (the vicar) and stole a woollen cloak worth 40s, 8 rings of gold worth £10, 48 pieces of coined gold called "rialles and soueraignes" worth £24 and £24 in numbered money. For both offences he pleaded and obtained benefit of clergy.
