Inquisition taken at the gaol of Newgate in the parish of Christ Church in the ward of Farringdon, before Robert Lawe, coroner of the City of London, on view of the body of Thomas Eedes, late prisoner in the gaol aforesaid, by the oath of William Torr, Thomas Streete, John Goade, James Broune, John Mason, Edmund Water, William Black, John Cole, John Hill, Elizeus Gryffin, Walter Webb, Walter Smith and John Bolt, who say on their oath that the aforesaid John Eedes languished for the space of three days before the taking of this inquisition of an illness called a pining sickness, and died of it by a divine visitation on 19 April 11 James I [A.D. 1613].
