White's Ordinance to be Minister of Harbledown.

An Ordinance was read, for making Mr. White Minister of Harbledowne; and Agreed to, and Ordered to be sent down to the House of Commons.

Instructions for the Contractors for Bishops Lands.

The Instructions for the Contractors for the Bishops Lands, was read; and the House was adjourned into a Committee of the whole House during Pleasure, to take the same into Consideration.

The House being resumed;

The said Instructions were read, with Amendments and Agreed.

Next, the Instructions for the Surveyors of the Bishops Lands were read, with Amendments and Proviso; and Agreed to, with the said Amendments and Proviso.

The Instructions for the Registers were read, with Amendments; and Agreed to, with the said Amendments.

Ordered, That these Instructions and the Amendments shall be delivered to the House of Commons, at the next Conference; and their Concurrence be desired in the said Amendments and Proviso.

Answer from the H. C.

Mr. Page and Mr. Doctor Aylett return with this Answer to the Message sent Yesterday to the House of Commons:

That they will give a Conference, as is desired, this Morning.

The House of Commons being come, the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.

Message to them, with Papers about the Muscovy Company;

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Page and Doctor Aylett:

To deliver to them the Papers concerning the Muscovia Company, and desire their Concurrence, that they may be referred to the Committee for Foreign Affairs.

and with an Ordinance.

2. To deliver to them the Ordinance for making Mr. White Minister of Harbledowne, and desire their Concurrence therein.

Paper from the Committee of both Kingdoms, for Col. Monk to be sent to Ireland, and for the Commissioners for Ireland to give Commissions for Martial Law.

The Lord Wharton reported a Paper from the Committee of both Kingdoms; which was read, as follows:

"Die Mercurii, 11 Nov. 1646.

"At a Committee of Lords and Commons, at Derby House.

"Ordered, That it be reported to both Houses, That Colonel Monke hath been at this Committee; and hath engaged his Honour, that he will faithfully serve the Parliament in this War in Ireland, if he may be employed thither; that he hath taken the Negative Oath, and is ready to take the Covenant; and is ready to take his Journey at a Day's Warning: That the Opinion of this Committee is, That he may be of very good Use now at Dublyn, if the Houses please to leave it to this Committee to employ him thither as they shall think fit.

"That it be reported to the Houses, That Power may be granted to the Commissioners now employed for Ireland, to grant Commissions of Martial Law to such as they shall think fit, for the punishing of offending Soldiers.

"Ex'r. Gualter Frost,

"Secretary to the same Committee."

Agreed to.

Col. Monk to go to Ireland.

The Question was put, "Whether Colonel Monke, shall now be sent into Ireland, or not?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That this Report be presently sent down to the House of Commons, and their Concurrence desired therein.

Smart and Carr.

Upon reading the Petition of Easter Carr and Tho. Carr: It is Ordered, That Mr. Peter Smart shall have a Copy of it; and both Sides to be heard, by their Counsel, on Wednesday next.

E. of Mulgrave to be Vice Admiral of Yorkshire.

Upon reading of a Paper reported by the Earl of Warwicke; (fn. 1) it was read, as follows:

"Die Sabbati, 7 November, 1646.

"By the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Admiralty and Cinque Ports.

"Whereas the Vice Admiralty of the County of Yorke was in the Hands of Edmond late Earl of Mulgrave until the Time of his Decease; Ordered, That the now Earl of Mulgrave be recommended to both Houses of Parliament, for their approving him to enjoy the Vice Admiralty of the said County, in the room of the said Earl deceased.

"W. Jessop, Secretary."

Ordered, That this House approves of this Report, for the Earl of Mulgrave to be Vice Admiral of the County of Yorke; and the Concurence of the House of Commons to be desired herein.

E. of Pembrooke to rent Cashiobury House.

Ordered, That it be recommended to the House of Commons, that the Earl of Pembrooke may be Tenant to the House, Park, and such Lands, of Cashiobery, in the County of Hertford, as were late in the Possession of the Earl of Essex, or his Assigns; his Lordship giving such a Rent for the same as may be most for the Benefit of the State.

Mills and Groves.

Ordered, That the Cause between Mills and Grove shall be heard on Tuesday next.
