Ordered, That Sir Nath. Brent shall give Institution and Induction to Henry Dodwell, to the Rectory of Newborne, in the County of Suff. being presented to the same by the Patron Robert Brooke Esquire.

Answer from the H. C.

Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath return with this Answer:

That the House of Commons will send an Answer, by Messengers of their own, touching the Earl of Holland's Petition.

Ordinance to search Ships carrying Arms to the Rebels in Ireland.

The Earl of Northumb. presented to this House an Ordinance concerning taking and searching of such Ships as carry Arms to the Rebels of Ireland and England, &c. which was read Twice, and committed to the Consideration of these Lords following:

Any Three, to meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock; and to call what Assistants of this House, and such Officers of the Admiralty, as they shall think fit.

Sir L. Dives's Petition, for an Allowance out of his sequestered Estate.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Lewis Dyve; shewing, "That he hath no Means to maintain him, being a Prisoner; therefore desires that some Means may be allowed him, out of his Estate sequestered, for his necessary Maintenance."

It was Resolved, upon the Question, That this Petition be sent down to the House of Commons, with Recommendations.

The Earl of Warwicke reported a Paper from the Committee for the Admiralty and Cinque Ports:

"That the Committee are of Opinion:

Order for 994l. 12s. 6d. for Ammunition.

"That it concerns the Parliament, both in Honour and Justice, to give Order for Payment of the Money, being Nine Hundred Ninety-four Pounds, Twelve Shillings, and Six Pence; that both Houses be moved, That Order may be given to the Committee of the House of Commons, for Powder, Match, and Bullet, to make Payment of the Nine Hundred Ninety-four Pounds, Twelve Shillings, and Six Pence, out of the Ordinance of Eight Thousand Pounds, due the First of July next, appropriated for that Use."

Ordered, That this House approves of this Report; and thinks it just and fit, that the Committee for Match and Powder do pay the said Nine Hundred Ninety-four Pounds, Twelve Shillings, and Six Pence; and to desire the Concurrence of the House of Commons therein, that they may pay the same accordingly.

Ordinance for Rogers and Fowler to be Fellows of Eaton.

An Ordinance was presented to this House, for putting out Doctor Stokes and Doctor Meredith from being Fellows of Eaton Colledge; and placing in their rooms Christopher Rogers and Christopher Fowler; which being read, it was committed to the Consideration of these Lords following:

Any Three, to meet on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon.

Money that Col. Jordain is bound for, for Surrey.

Ordered, That the Committee for Surrey do certify this House what Money Colonel Jourdan stands bound for, (fn. 1) for the County.

Mansell's Order.

The Order for making Bushy Mansell Commander in Chief of the Forces in Glamorganshire, was read, and Agreed to. (Here enter it.)

Camocks and Petit & al.

Ordered, That Captain Camocks hath Liberty from this House, to lay his Action on Monsieur Dominiq' Petits and Monsieur De Licks, for his securing him from £100 Bond entered into by him, sora Cable by them bought of one Gallant, of Ipsich.

Mansell to command in Glamorgan.

"The Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament do nominate and approve of Bushy Mansell Esquire, to be Commander in Chief of the Forces of the County of Glamorgan, subordinate to Sir Thomas Fairefax; and that the Members of both Houses that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms do grant him a Commission accordingly."
