After hearing Counsel further in the Cause wherein Archibald Douglas Esquire and others are Appellants, and George sames Duke of Hamilton and others are Respondents:

It is Ordered That the further Hearing of the said Cause be adjourned till Tuesday next, and that the Counsel be called in at One o'Clock.

Causes put off.

Ordered, That the Cause wherein John Goodere Esquire is Appellant, and Trevor Borrett and another are Respondents, et e contra, which stands appointed for hearing this Day, be put off till Friday next, and that the Rest of the Causes be removed in Course.

Sir Watkin Williams Wynn Bill.

The Lord Viscount Weymouth reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, “An Act to enable Sir Watkin Williams Wynn Baronet, a Minor, to make a Settlement on his intended Marriage with the Lady Harriot Somerset,” was committed: “That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.”

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Mailborough, &c. Road Bill.

The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, “An Act to enlarge the Term and Powers of an Act, passed in the Sixteenth Year of King George the Second, for repairing the Roads from Marlborough to Shepherd's Shord, and from Beckhampton to the Top of Cherrill Hill, and from Avebury to Beckhampton, in the County of Wilts; and for repairing and widening the Road from the Turnpike Gate at Avebury to Wroughton and from the North Side of Swindon to The Carpenter's Arms in Blunsden, in the said County;” was committed: “That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the (same to the House, without any Amendment.”

Mereworth Cross &c. Road Bill.

The Lord Sandys also made the like Report from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, “An Act for repairing and widening the Road leading from Mereworth Cross to the Road leading from Seal to Wrotham Heath, and also the said Road from opposite the House of William Dalison Esquire, to Hadlow Street, in the County of Kent, was committed.

Hilborowe Enclosure Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, “An Act for dividing and enclosing the Common Fields, Commons, and Waste Grounds, in the Manor and Parish of Hilborowe, in the County of Norfolk.

The Question was put, “Whether this Bill shall pass?”

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Sincere Satisfaction you express in the Measures which I have already taken, and the Strong Assurances you give of Supporting Me in those which may be still necessary to maintain the just Legislative Authority, and the due Execution of the Laws, in My Province of Massachusetts Bay, give Me great Pleasure.

I Shall not fail to give those Orders which you recommend, as the most effectual Method of bringing the Authors of the late unhappy Disorders in that Province to condign Punishment.”

worgan's Divorce Bill.

The Lord Boston (pursuant t6 an Order of Leave of the 26th of January last) presented to the House a Bill, intituled, “An Act to dissolve the Marriage of John Worgan with Sarah Mackelcan his now Wife, and to enable him to marry again, and for other Purposes therein mentioned.”

The said Bill was read the First Time

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Thursday the 1st Day of March next, and that Notice thereof be affixed on the Doors of this House, and the Lords to be Summoned, and that the said John Worgan may be heard by his Counsel at the said Second Reading, to make out the Truth of the Allegations of the Bill, and that the said Sarah Mackelcan may have a Copy of the said Bill, and that Notice be given her of the said Second Reading, and that she be at Liberty to be heard by her Counsel what she may have to offer against the said. A Petition of Janet Gourlay Respondent, in a Cause depending in this House, wherein James Arthur is Appellant, was presented and read; setting forth, “That the only Question in this Cause is, Whether the Respondent is entitled to a separate Maintenance from her Husband the Appellant, as the Commissaries of Edinburgh and the Lords of Session have, cc by the Interlocutors appealed from, decreed her; and Causes of Aliment being held in, the Court of Session entitled to the Privilege of being heard summarily in Preference in Point of Time to other common Causes ?” and therefore praying Their Lordships will be pleased to order that this Cause may be set down to be heard on Thursday the 9th Day of March next, being a Bye-day, or on such other short Day as to their Lordships shall seem meet.”

The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, “An Act for confirming a Partition between John Edwardes Esquire, John Fremantle Esquire and Frances his Wife, and Mary Edwardes Spinster, of several Estates in the County of Middlesex and City of Bristol, devised by the Will of John Schoppens Esquire devised, and of the Residue of the Personal Estate of the said John Schoppens,” was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.”

And also, “ An Account of the present State of the Territorial Acquisitions and Revenues obtained in India cc by the East India Company, since the Year 1756, together with a Lift thereof.”

And then he withdrew.

And the said Lift was read by the Clerk as follows:

“ No. 3. Extracts of Letters from the East India Company to their Servants at Fort Saint George, relative to all Treaties made with, and Grants received from, any of the Country Powers in India, from the Year 1756 to the present Time, with a Copy of a Letter from the Company to the Nabob of Arcot.

“ No. 4. Copies of all Treaties made with, and Grants received from, any of the Country Powers by the East India Company, under the Presidency of Fort William, from the Year 1756 to the present Time; also Copy of a Treaty proposed to be entered into between the Nabob of Bengal and Maha Raja Jonajee, Chief of the Moratt as, and of the proposed' Agreement of the East India Company as Guarantees of the said Treaty, according to a Lift annexed thereto.
